Bu çalışmanın amacı, Doğu Akdeniz Bölgesi’nde faaliyet gösteren seyahat acentelerinin web sitelerini ve elektronik pazarlama uygulamalarını değerlendirmektir. Bu amaçla, seyahat acentelerinin web sitesi kullanım düzeylerine, web siteleri üzerinden elektronik pazarlama uygulamalarına, web sitelerinde en çok ve en az kullanılan özelliklerine ilişkin durum tespiti yapılmıştır. Araştırma alanı Doğu Akdeniz Bölgesi illerini (Mersin, Adana, Hatay, Gaziantep, Osmaniye, Kilis) kapsamaktadır. Bu kapsamda TÜRSAB’a kayıtlı olup aktif bir şekilde web sitesi kullanan seyahat acenteleri incelemeye alınmıştır. Araştırma sürecinde aktif olan her bir web sitesi ziyaret edilmiş ve ziyaret edilen her web sitesi için ayrı ayrı olmak üzere bir değerlendirme formu kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın bulgularına göre, Doğu Akdeniz Bölgesi’nde TÜRSAB’a kayıtlı toplam 428 acente bulunmaktadır. Bunlardan %27’si aktif olarak web sitesi kullanmaktadır. Web sitesi kullanan acentelerin tasarım, iletişim bilgileri, gizlilik ve güvenlik uygulamalarına daha fazla yoğunlaştığı görülmüştür. Aynı zamanda her bir pazarlama uygulamasında kullanılan en az üç özelliğin %50’nin üzerinde kullanım oranına sahip olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Sonuç olarak, mevcut acente sayısına göre web sitesi kullanan acente sayısının düşük olduğu gözlenmiştir. Acentelerin web sitesi kullanımını arttırmaları ve web pazarlama uygulamalarına ilişkin özellikleri geliştirmeleri önerilmektedir.

This paper explores the notions of “articulation,” “agency” and “embodiment” in Urdu poetry composed by Pakistani women. Although these terms have been taken from the First world feminist discourses, we aim to highlight how these three terms were not merely reflected in the contemporary poetry of Pakistani women, but rather were used to express their own modalities and associations as they countered the patriarchal system within which they were embedded. Our study does not simply apply these terms on selected poems by Kishwar Naheed (1940-), Fehmeeda Riaz (1946-) and Azra Abbas (1948-), but it also explores how these terms undergo a discursive diffraction as the Pakistani woman is no longer seen as a subaltern entity with a silenced subjectivity. We have taken on board the synonymic idea of writing as an agentive act of embodiment, as theorised by Luce Irigaray and Helene Cixous. The travel industry in Saudi Arabia is considered to be one of the most important sectors to be affected by technological advancements. We found that the number of travel agents in Saudi Arabia has decreased since 2002, even though the number of travellers has significantly increased. This change was the result of the emergence of the Internet and a significant number of people have become more comfortable in using it to book their travel arrangements. The method of scheduling trips has changed from the traditional approach to the online method due to advancements such as e-commerce, Web 2.0, and mobile applications. All of these technologies negatively impacted the performance of travel agents, in terms of sales and commissions, due to airlines’ newfound ability to sell their products directly through their sites. However, there are still some people who prefer not to use online booking due to cultural problems such as language or concerning the use of credit cards.

In this research, we used the exploratory method to explore a phenomenon that has not been previously studied in the Saudi travel market. Furthermore, we analysed both secondary and primary data (e.g., a questionnaire and interviews). In the questionnaire, we targeted 100 Saudi travellers whom have experience in working with travel agents or online booking sites. The interviews were divided into two categories: first, interviews with travel agents; second, interviews with travellers. The sample size for the questionnaire was 100, three interviews focused on travel agents, and five interviews focused on travellers.

In the findings, we found that many Saudis preferred to obtain information about travel and book their reservations through online sites. Furthermore, we found they used online booking due to its flexibility, to save time and money, and because it included features that travel agents usually do not offer. However, a few Saudis still depended on travel agents for a number of cultural reasons, such as language barriers, the use of credit cards, and education. In addition, we found that many participants indicated that the travel agents will be important in the future due to many factors. Moreover, we reviewed future strategies for travel agencies because these changes had negative effects on their performance in terms of profits, sales, and commissions.

In Turkish tourism, a common point of view has been shared concerning
the inadequacy of marketing efforts. This opinion is supported by lower figures
of tourist arrivals and receipts in Turkey than some tourism destinations having
similar tourism attractions such as Spain and France. Tourism service is based
on intra-human relations and aims to create continous interest. Systematic
monitoring of tourism movements is an increasingly important topic for tourism
companies and destinations.
The ambiguity about planning of tourism marketing tasks is related with
decisions of who will do what, with which resources and how. In general,
tourism professionals complain about insufficient promotion of Turkey.
However, thinking marketing and sales as the same concept leads marketing
managers to faults. Sales, promotion, marketing communicationm new
customer creation are all parts of the marketing department tasks. If marketing
manager can not generate his own holistic point of view about the past, present
and future of his industry, and if he does not possess the details of the business
environment the success becomes a matter of chance. Marketing information
system is an application that facilitates decisional processes, but this application
is not widely understood by small tourism enterprises.
This study aims to produce theoretical base about the importance and the utility
of marketing information system (MkiS) concept in relation with marketing
management in travel agencies. Tourist guides and their contributions to
marketing information systems in travel agencies are questioned. Furthermore,
the design process of typical marketing information system is explained step-bystep. Finally; the study includes a survey realized in Aegean Region of Turkey
among tourist guides and travel agencies. This survey examined the
contributions of tourist guides to the data collection stages of marketing
information systems in travel agencies. Recommendations are developed
following the data analysis.

Resumo: O objetivo do artigo é o estudo e análise inicial do impacto da crise provocada pelo novo corona vírus COVID-19, surgido na China em Dezembro de 2019 e ainda em andamento, nas agências e operadoras de turismo do Brasil. Analisa os impactos da crise nas empresas e no setor de turismo e como o setor de turismo no Brasil reagirá aos desafios de superação da crise. Também serão abordadas as possíveis perspectivas para a superação deste momento e como o setor se comportará em relação a um cenário de novas crises de saúde e outras. O estudo é exploratório, com método de análise qualitativa a partir de artigos publicados no Brasil e no mundo, além de reportagens em websites, jornais e mídias de circulação nacional e internacional, em função da emergência e da brevidade dos fenômenos estudados. Korkut Owen ve Bugay (2014) geliştirmiş oldukları iletişim becerileri ölçeğinde (İBÖ) becerilerin; İletişim İlkeleri ve Temel Beceriler (IITB), Kendini İfade Etme (KIE), İletişim Kurmaya İsteklilik (IKI) ve Etkin Dinleme ve Sözel Olmayan İletişim (EDSOI) faktörlerinden oluştuğunu tespit etmiştir. Bu çalışma Korkut Owen ve Bugay'ın (2014) geliştirmiş oldukları ölçekten yola çıkarak iletişim becerilerin müşteri memnuniyeti ve satış performansı üzerindeki etkilerini ölçmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Araştırma evreni olarak acenta temsilcileri seçilmiş, İBÖ ölçeği iki acentada çalışan 217 acenta temsilcisine uygulanmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarında İBÖ ölçeğinin dört temel faktörü elde edilmiştir. Araştırma sonuçları; iletişim becerileri, satış performansı ve müşteri memnuniyeti açısından cinsiyetler arasında anlamlı farklılıklar olduğunu ortaya koymaktadır. Ayrıca müşteri memnuniyetinde iki, satış performansı üzerinde ise bir İBÖ faktörünün etkili olduğu tespit edilmiştir.

In last one decade, the number of people using airline has increased in great number. Different international airlines use Bangladesh as a hub to take passenger. The aim of the paper is to examine the business process of travel agent. To know in which area or location passengers are traveling, percentage of domestic flights and international flights, Number of transit ticket and direct ticket, type of buyer and characteristics of passengers traveling on these international flights. The main target is to show how travel agents are working in Bangladesh. This paper provides empirical study, collected data from field. In this paper, we are going to see the operations and market analysis of these two travel agencies. The result reveals that the main customers of travel agents are tourists and specially, mid-level tourists. Most of the people take return tickets and in economy class. This travel agencies offer different package to customers according their choice and need. In this study we also found the socio-Demographic Characteristic of customers, their gender, occupation, type of buyer etc.

Companies from the travel, tourism and hospitality industry have started adopting robots, artificial intelligence and service automation technologies (RAISA) in their operations. Self-check-in kiosks, robotic pool cleaners, delivery robots, robot concierges, chatbots, etc., are used increasingly by tourism companies and transform the ways they create and deliver services. This paper investigates the impact of RAISA technologies on travel, tourism and hospitality companies – their operations, facilities design, marketing, supply chain management, human resource management, and financial management. The paper emphasises that in the future companies will divide into two large segments – high-tech tourism companies offering standardized cheap robot-delivered services, and high-touch companies, which rely on human employees.

Airline computerized reservation systems (CRS) are the primary form of travel agency computerization in the world. These systems manage the millions of reservation requests and cancellations, fare, and reservation pricing requests that are initiated by travel agencies using these systems—not to mention the thousands of database changes that occur daily. Thème du projet : Gestion d'une agence de voyage routière I-Présentation du projet Les agences de transport Garantie Express (GE) constituent une entreprise commerciale qui compose et vend des offres de voyage à ses clients ; Elle joue le rôle d'intermédiaire et/ou d'agrégateur de services entre les clients et les différents prestataires sur le marché du transport. L'agence de voyage routière Garantie Express d'Akwa-Douala offre à ses clients divers services. Toutefois, il est très difficile d'avoir des informations concernant les voyages, le personnel, les congés, les sanctions affligées. The hotel industry is currently the most under-automated sector of the international travel industry. In comparison to the airlines, its reservation systems are often archaic and a high proportion of bookings are still received at individual properties direct by telephone or telex. This relative under-automation prevents the collection of consumer profile data essential to developing effective marketing strategies. and the development of adequate yield management. A number of chains--notably Hilton and Sheraton--are now investing in improving their reservation systems. The airline CRS vendors are also looking to establish joint programmes with hotels. So far the chains have been reluctant to partrc1pate. However, Covia's incorporation of Hilton International and likely expansion by Murdoch of Utell and a related Videotext system is likely to encourage them.

Nyanyadzi ward falls under the Chimanimani district and it is located in Manicaland province in the eastern part of Zimbabwe. The people in Nyanyadzi ward are poor emanating from very high temperatures and variable rainfall, making agriculture an almost impossible survival plan for the people. The residents tried to resolve to mining but due to political disputes all efforts were in vain. This then promoted the idea of alleviating poverty in Nyanyadzi ward by developing rural tourism. This paper therefore seeks to analyse the potential and constraints of developing rural tourism as a poverty alleviation tool in Nyanyadzi ward. Tourism is known to develop any area be it urban or rural this is evidenced by rural tourism, urban tourism and presence of theme parks, but it can only be successful given that there is collaboration from all interested parties like the government, stakeholders and non-governmental organisations. However other authors argued that tourism benefits do not necessarily benefit the poor this then promoted the idea of focusing on the likely benefits of rural tourism development in a poor region and in a developing country in this case Zimbabwe. The researcher used a case study research design and made use of a thematic approach applying both qualitative and quantitative data method in analysing data. The researcher used a key informant technique in selecting respondents for the interviews, the researcher also targeted people and tourism resources available in Nyanyadzi ward. The results from the study revealed that there is potential to develop rural tourism in Nyanyadzi ward this was seen by the presence of existing tourism products and facilities like hotels and craft centres that could be used to promote cultural tourism, sizeable dams that could be used to promote sport tourism however absence of a tourism committee to implement tourism policies was one constraint that hindered the development of rural tourism in Nyanyadzi ward. The researcher designed a model encompassing the recommendation for the development of rural tourism that suggests the need for rural tourism committee that will create a vision and to guide how rural tourism can be developed and outlining key success factors for the development and later on strong marketing for the area through media and also communication of proposed plan to the government and stakeholders. The researcher further proposes that there is need to look at the potential of rural tourism development in other parts of Zimbabwe that have an existing tourism product in the rural set up for example in areas like Matebebeland.
