Instant Activity:
the first activity we are going to play is a
game where there are bean bags in the
middle of the court and there are four
teams, one at each corner. When I say go
one person at a time from each team will
run and grab one bean bag and bring it
back to their corner and so on. We will do
this until they are gone.
Transition
When I say freeze the students will stop
and return the bean bags back to the bag,
then sit on the home base line and wait
for further instruction.
What?- stop when told
Where?- return bean bags to equipment
bag
What?- sit on the home base line
Set Induction:
Today we are going to work on shooting
the basketball into the hoop. There are
four baskets and you will choose a hoop
then form a line and take turns shooting
the ball. The cots for shooting are bend
your knees, hold ball with two hands- one
on the side and the other towards the
bottom of the ball, then follow through
Purpose:
The purpose of learning how to shoot a
basketball is that it is a major part of
basketball and if any students ever want
to play basketball they need to learn the
correct way to shoot it.
Transition
When I say so the students will go stand
at a hoop and wait to be given a
basketball.
