The term “q-Rung orthopair fuzzy sets ($$q^{r}$$ q r OFSs)” refers to the collection of the most differentiated ideas for expressing fuzzy data in decision-making rules. The $$q^{r}$$ q r OFSs can gradually adapt the region of information by adjusting the parameter $$q \ge 1$$ q ≥ 1 in response to the fluctuation degree, so assisting in the generation of more numerous possibilities. Aczel–Alsina triangular norm and conorm are superior operations that may create general and adaptable working principles for aggregating arguments. To make use of $$q^{r}$$ q r OFSs and Aczel–Alsina triangular norms in “multiple attribute decision-making (MADM)” issues, a few q-rung orthopair fuzzy ($$q^{r}$$ q r OF) Aczel–Alsina aggregation operators: $$q^{r}$$ q r OF Aczel–Alsina weighted average ($$q^{r}$$ q r OFAAWA) operator, $$q^{r}$$ q r OF Aczel–Alsina order weighted average ($$q^{r}$$ q r OFAAOWA) operator, $$q^{r}$$ q r OF Aczel–Alsina hybrid average ($$q^{r}$$ q r OFAAHA) operator for aggregat...

Large-scale group decision-making (LS-GDM) problems are common in the daily life of human beings. Both information fusion and computing with words (CWW) technologies in LS-GDM suffer from challenges. In the current research, a proportional hesitant fuzzy linguistic term set (PHFLTS) will be applied to capture the preferences of sub-groups in LS-GDM, which decreases the information lost in information fusion processes. Novel fuzzy semantic representation models of PHFLTS, such as type-1 fuzzy envelope and interval type-2 fuzzy envelope, are respectively studied. The application of the proposed fuzzy entropies facilitates the CWW process with the PHFLTS under the framework of a fuzzy linguistic approach. In particular, linguistic uncertainties contained in the PHFLTS can be reflected in a comprehensive way when the type-2 fuzzy envelope is applied, which contributes to the decrease in the information lost during the CWW process. A novel LS-GDM method cooperating with the fuzzy semanti...

Group recommender systems (GRSs) filter relevant items to groups of users in overloaded search spaces using information about their preferences. When the feedback is explicitly given by the users, inconsistencies may be introduced due to various factors, known as natural noise. Previous research on individual recommendation has demonstrated that natural noise negatively influences the recommendation accuracy, whilst it improves when noise is managed. GRSs also employ explicit ratings given by several users as ground truth, hence the recommendation process is also affected by natural noise. However, the natural noise problem has not been addressed on GRSs. The aim of this paper is to develop and test a model to diminish its negative effect in GRSs. A case study will evaluate the results of different approaches, showing that managing the natural noise at different rating levels reduces prediction error. Eventually, the deployment of a GRS with natural noise management is analysed. Jaé...

Nowadays organizations work to improve their software development process, with a purpose to reduce costs, improve quality and increase planning reliability. That is why decision making pertaining to role assignment in software engineering developing projects is one of the most important factors that affect the software development process in organizations. We should not only consider individual’s abilities and capabilities for better team performance but also consider knowing their personality traits to carry out the most suitable role in an effective working team. Through compilation of studies with RAMSET (Role Assignment Methodology for Software Engineering Teams) methodology some personalities and typologies have been identified to perform certain type of roles, thus helping us build a better, cohesive and less conflictive team. Our methodology based on personality has revealed appropriate and adequate personality patterns for assignment of best advisable performing roles in so...

Consensus reaching processes (CRPs) in group decision making (GDM) attempt to reach a mutual agreement among a group of decision makers before making a common decision. Different consensus models have been proposed by different authors in the literature to facilitate CRPs. Classical CRP models focus on achieving an agreement on GDM problems in which few decision makers participate. However, nowadays, societal and technological trends that demand the management of larger scale of decision makers

Objective: The CAPTURE study found that the prevalence of CVD in adults with T2D is approximately 1 in 3. This post hoc analysis determined the association between CVD risk factors (RF) and CVD. Methods: CAPTURE was a cross-sectional, non-interventional study in people with T2D across 13 countries. Participant data were collected during a single routine clinical visit in a primary or specialist settings between Dec 1, 2018 and Sep, 2019. A multivariable logistic regression model was used to calculate prevalence odds ratios (PORs). Results: Data were from 6369 participants with the information available for all included variables from the total CAPTURE population (N=9823). Age and CKD (assessed by eGFR) were positively associated with CVD status (both p Conclusion: The high CVD prevalence in the CAPTURE study is associated with demographics, classic CVD RF and diabetes-related variables, especially CKD. A negative association with LDL-C reflect confounding through indication for the use of lipid-lowering agents. These data support the use of antidiabetes drugs with proven CV benefit on several CV RFs in people with T2D and CVD. Disclosure A. M. Despite the substantial efforts of governments in promoting sustainable development, there exists considerable debate regarding the environmental policy making approach under information ambiguity and competition. This study investigates market competition between a green and a non-green supply chain (SC) under two government regulation policies, namely, selling price and production quantities. To tackle the policy making challenges, a fuzzy game theoretical model was employed in a centralized and decentralized SC setting. The results revealed that SCs always achieve a higher expected profit under a decentralized structure, regardless of the type of the governments intervention policy. Also, the government’s policy making success was found to be highly dependent on the channel leadership, market competition, and the SC structure. Our findings suggest that the policy makers’ objectives in reducing environmental pollution and increasing revenue are highly achievable, without risk of l...

Phytopharmaceuticals containing Valerian are used as mild sleep-inducing agents. The elemental composition of 3 different marks of Valeriana officinalis roots commercially available in the Argentinian market, their teas, and a commercial tincture have been studied. The content of Al, Ca, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Li, Mn, Ni, Pb, V, and Zn was determined in phytopharmaceuticals by flame atomic emission/absorption spectrometry, electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry, and ultrasonic nebulization coupled to inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectrometry. Prior to analyses of the samples, a digestion procedure was optimized. The analytical results obtained for Fe, Al, Ca, and V in the solid sample study were within the range 100–1000 mg/kg, and for Mn, Zn, and Pb within the range 10–100 mg/kg. Cadmium was found at levels up to 0.0125 mg/kg.

Seventeen elements, Al, Ca, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, K, Li, Mg, Mn, Na, Ni, P, Pb, V, and Zn (macroelements and trace elements) were investigated by Atomic Spectrometries on a particular wild edible mushroom collected in the central region of Argentina during 2 different years in the same season. The metal content profile in Suillus granulatus samples is given. The found quantities of Na, K, Ca, Mg, Fe, P, V, and Al were 0.40, 10.84, 0.48, 0.30, 0.57, 4.24, 0.18, and 1.23 g/kg dry weight, respectively. The levels of Li, Cu, Zn, Cd, Co, Ni, Cr, and Mn were 0.98, 23.02, 22.30, 0.26, 0.16, 1.17, 0.90, and 28.75 mg/kg dry weight, respectively. Pb was not detected at the investigated levels. The results indicate that the levels of metals in the analyzed samples are not considered to be a health risk. In order to demonstrate the validity of our method, a recovery study was performed with acceptable results.

Interaction among primary afferents, corticofugal fibers, and intrinsic elements allows for sensorimotor integration at the dorsal column nuclei. The interneurons permit the spatial localization, the recurrent collaterals synchronize the activity of projecting cells with overlapping receptive fields, and the corticofugal fibers induce a central zone of activity surrounded by a peripheral zone of inhibition.

Technology brings green sustainable management practices to the workplace. It is important to ascertain the factors that enable or inhibit employees’ perceptions towards technology adoption. Corporate sustainability and sustainable management practices partially depend on employees for the successful implementation of technological changes in the workplace. This study aims at applying the technology acceptance model (TAM) from an employees’ user-perspective. It addresses those factors that form employee readiness for e-business and enable their intention to use e-business technologies such as decision support systems (DSS). It focuses on technology intensive firms while combining Davis’ technology acceptance model and Lai and Ong’s employee readiness for e-business (EREB) model. A survey questionnaire was used to collect the data for this cross-sectional study from 331 employees of 28 well-established small and medium-sized e-businesses located in the United Kingdom. The outcomes sh...

A case suggesting the occurrence of onchocerciasis in Ecuador was first reported in 1952. The appearance of another case in 1977 provided the stimulus to do an epidemiologic survey on an isolated 20-km section of the Cayapa River in Esmeraldas Province. The Mazzotti test, skin biopsy, and nodulectomy were performed on 300 inhabitants of the area. Of the 300 who were tested, 210 (70%) reacted positively to the Mazzotti test, only 20 of whom had a negative skin biopsy. An additional 10 patients with a negative Mazzotti test had a positive skin biopsy. Combining the results of the Mazzotti test and skin biopsy show a 73% prevalence of onchocerciasis. Sixty-four patients (21%) had nodules, and evidence suggests that ocular pathology may be present.

Thermolysis studies of β-hydroxyolefins in gas phase were realized using ab initio MP2 and DFT methods at the 6-31G∗ levels to explore the possibility of determining a possible concerted process with a six-membered cyclic transition state (TS). Vibrational frequency calculations were carried out in order to confirm the stationary states, including TS structures. IRC calculations have been performed in all cases in order to verify that localized TS structures connect with the corresponding minimum stationary points associated with the reactant and products. With the aim of corroborating the postulated mechanism in the experimental study, we present a theoretical study in order to calculate the rate constants and the activation parameters. The results obtained are in accordance with the experimental conclusions.

One of the goals in an onion breeding program is the production of F1 hybrids. The main limitation of this scope is the long period required to produce inbred lines. The most time-consuming and labor-intensive aspect of developing these hybrids is the traditional inbreeding process that requires manual self-pollination necessary to generate homozygous parental lines. This process requires six or more generations of inbreeding to adequately establish stable lines that can be used in hybrid combinations. In many species in vitro methods have speed up the production of homozygous lines, as an alternative to the slower inbreeding process. Haploid plants can be obtained by anther, non-fertilized ovule, ovary or whole flower bud culture. The haploid chromosome number means that the effects of meiotic recombinations and recessive genes are expressed at the haploid plant level. Then, spontaneous or induced chromosome doubling permits the regeneration of doubled haploid (DH) homozygous material, with restored fertility that can be used in different breeding strategies. Because all the alleles of DH lines are fixed, selection for quantitative characters is often more reliable than in conventional populations.
