This book is for me who wants to become rich through investing in financial instruments and alternative assets.

The first part of the book discusses investing and the need to invest, stating that the only way to become rich or maintain the riches that I have already acquired is through investing, that is, making the assets I already have to acquire more assets for me. This part also covers the basic and fundamental principles of investing.

The second part of the book takes me through the various investment products; the markets where I can buy and ell such products and the market players, including regulators, associations and brokers.

Finally, the book also introduces the East African financial market, the available financial instruments and how to invest in them, listing the various financial institutions and their regulators, the exchanges, the member firms and the listed companies. The book then concludes by introducing a prospective investor to fundamental principles of economics and economic institutions.

In this paper, we will analyse the role of brokers, dealers and investment banks in the equity markets. Special attention will be given in analysing the role of financial intermediaries at initial public offerings and secondary offerings, according to the legal framework in Serbia. Serbia, as other transitional economies, has problems in mobilising funds for its stock exchange. Especially local savers do not trust the local financial system, especially the stock exchange. One of the major reasons for this distrust, besides bad experiences in the past, is a lack of knowledge about the functioning of stock exchanges. On the other hand, companies in Serbia often rely on debt-based financial instruments, where they have to pay high interest rates. However, equity financing with partners, especially with many partners is at a very low level. Therefore, we want to analyse the functioning of equity markets by explaining the concept of stocks, public offerings and the role of financial intermediaries in this process.

The study done in this prospective is based on an artificial intelligence system, Globe Expert, which is the only one capable of considering what could happen in a hundred years with objectivity and neutrality. To the question of the triggering cause of humankind’s expansion into outer space, its answer is quite clear: a major crisis of the biosphere. Then, who takes the decision? Without hesitation, Globe Expert points out the transfer of responsibilities to international organizations and private players. The procedure of space exploration emerges as a necessity to understand, anticipate, manage and resolve the Earth’s issues. It is as if the states, by refocusing on earthly problems, have delegated to private players the task of finding solutions and have delegated to international organizations the charge of coordinating and managing this formidable mission. As for the pioneers, they necessarily subscribe to a new vision of society and to the economy of civilization, supported by international organizations that are indispensable for rethinking complex human organizations both on Earth and in outer space. The conclusion of Globe Expert is remarkably simple: the place of human beings is central. At no time, is it challenged by advanced technologies. This positioning is structured by philosophical bearings. Globe Expert concurs with the thought of Teilhard de Chardin by showing that nothing can be done and nothing will be done outside of this “human phenomenon”.

Housing is usually discussed in terms of its social and cultural aspects, its materials and methods of construction, and its method of production and design. Yet, building regulations have great impact on the formation of the built environment in general and housing in specific. This paper discusses the impact of building regulations on the development of private housing in Kuwait It traces their origin, development, and impact on private housing in Kuwait using case studies. It argues that building codes and regulations have a strong impact on housing more than is generally assumed. While social and cultural factors shaped the traditional dwelling in a very strong way, they failed to shape the modern dwelling in the same way due to the overriding impact of building regulations that were imported from other parts of the world. The paper recommends major changes to building regulations in order to allow socio-cultural and environmental factors to play a more prominent role in the shaping of the built environment. It also calls for the adoption of building regulations that help providing more sustainable environments.

Parental involvement is one of great significance in developing psychological as well as academic behavior of the child. The amount of parental interests and encouragement is a crucial factor in the Childs’ progress. The main objectives of the present study is to find out the relationship between parental involvement and academic achievement of SonowalKachari Tribal Adolescent students of Hapjan Educational Block in Tinsukia District, Assam. Descriptive survey method was used in this study. A sample of 90 SonowalKachari Adolescent students studying in class IX and X of Hapjan Educational Block under Tinsukia District of Assam was taken as a sample on the basis of incidental sampling. Choice of hostel is a crucial decision to every student in tertiary education institution in Ghana. Government hitherto provides hostels for students, but due to limited resources of the state, private sector investors now support government. This creates an opportunity for students to decide which hostel to choose. Student's choice of hostel is influenced by several factors, but this study focused on only student's background variables. The study used multinomial logistic regression to predict student's choice of hostel in Ghanaian polytechnics. A simple random sample of 300 students was selected from Bolgatanga Polytechnic for the study. The selected students responded to a questionnaire that sought data on their background variables. ""Classical ways of viewing the relation of consciousness to the brain and physical world make it difficult to see how consciousness can be a subject of scientific study. In contrast to physical events, it seems to be private, subjective, and viewable only from a subject's first-person perspective. But much of psychology does investigate human experience, which suggests that classical ways of viewing these relations must be wrong. An alternative, Reflexive model is outlined along with it's consequences for methodology. Within this model the external phenomenal world is viewed as part-of consciousness, rather than apart-from it. Observed events are only "public" in the sense of "private experience shared." Scientific observations are only "objective" in the sense of "intersubjective." Observed phenomena are only "repeatable" in the sense that they are sufficiently similar to be taken for "tokens" of the same event "type." This closes the gap between physical and psychological phenomena. Indeed, events out-there in the world can often be regarded as either physical or psychological depending on the network of relationships under consideration.

However, studying the experience of other human beings raises further complications. A subject (S) and an experimenter (E) may have symmetrical access to events out-there in the world, but their access to events within the subject's body or brain is asymmetrical (E's third-person perspective vs. S's first-person perspective). Insofar as E and S each have partial access to such events their perspectives are complementary. Access to S's experience is also asymmetrical, but in this case S has exclusive access whereas E can only infer its existence. This has not prevented the systematic investigation of experience, including quantification within psychophysics, psychometrics, and so on. Systematic investigation merely requires that experiences be potentially shared, intersubjective and repeatable. In this the conditions for a science of consciousness are no different to a science of physics."

This northeastern colonial perspective continues to underpin most of the basic assumptions in family law. Concurrently, with the increased privatization of the cooperative virtues, Americans have developed an excessive preoccupation with self and a cult of consumerism.

Consumerism has driven American society toward increased individualism and narcissism. A by-product of the increased individual-consumer culture is the mistaken belief that our personal values and security depend on the things each of us has yet to acquire, rather than on our relationships with others. Traditional family law history views the modern era as a time when women moved "up" from the confines of the private sphere into the "egalitarian" public sphere.  Many "minority" ethnic and racial groups offer a communal spirit to American culture. It is the call of the pilgrim church to infiltrate and humanize institutional structures: as prophet to confront and challenge power, as priest-mediator to seek solidarity, and as servant-king to minister to the needs of the marginalized.

Africa today is enmeshed in a deep developmental crisis arising not only from economic stagnation, which has made nonsense of the traditional laws of demand, supply and production, but also from the crisis of social order which is rooted in the absence of a stable political order. Liberia, Sierra Leone, Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Burundi, Zimbabwe and Sao-tome & Principe are recent examples of countries in Africa where political turmoil and anarchy have held sway. There is an overwhelming unanimity however that political stability must be guaranteed if there is to be development, a meaningful one indeed, in Africa. In this paper therefore we examine how we can sustain democratic values in many African states which are being forced to experience the whirl wind of democracy blowing across continents.

Free and fair election is a cherished feature, a universally acceptable and an intrinsically inseparable characteristic of democracy. Reporting election in unbiased, truthful and factual terms is an important role of the press globally. However, at present, in most African countries that have embraced democracy, such as Nigeria, this feature has not been attained. This comparative study of government and private owned media reportage of election in Nigeria aimed at ascertaining the section of the media that pay more attention to issues of free and fair polls. Abstract: This study provides an in depth assessment of the main drivers of risk impeding private higher education institutions in Jordan. The study adopts an analytical approach that incorporates reviewing available literature and conducting interviews and discussions with some shareholders and board of trustees ' members in addition to faculty members and students of private universities. The analysis revealed that although private universities in Jordan are making progress and provide important contributions to the economy, however, they face important strategic and operational risks in addition to other compliance, financial and reputational risks. By the late nineteenth century childbirth was firmly established in the domestic sphere. However, in the early years of the twentieth century different forms of maternity clinics were established where normal, as well as complicated, deliveries could take place. The aim of this dissertation is to analyse the institutionalisation of maternity care in a local urban context, the role of women in confinement in this process, and its impact on infant mortality. The geographical setting of the thesis is Sundsvall, a town in northern Sweden. The study concentrates on the period spanning from 1900 to 1930, when local communities, rather than federal agencies, were charged with creating and implementing community standards for maternity care. This video demonstration is based on scenarios of a family’s everyday activities supported by video mediated communication (VMC). It was recorded in comHOME, a concept dwelling of the future. The principal issue explored in the comHOME project, and in the video, concerns various aspects of private and public spaces using VMC. The design concept is based on the integration of different comZONES (communication zones), where the resident can be seen and/or heard. The architectural space, then, in combination with information and communication technology (ICT) solutions forms an interface to the digital world. A main observation from the making of the video is that it is a very good complementary method in a complex design-process because of the focus on the user perspective.

Two main types of leadership will be discussed throughout this paper; transactional leadership which is a style of leadership in which is based on supervision and control and has follows a rigorous management structure. And transformational leadership which is more focused on how to inspire the followers involving high degree of cooperation as well as communication. This study tries to find out which leadership style does the United Arab Emirates leaders tend to follow more and which is more beneficial for organizations in the UAE. Statistical Analysis tools such as SPSS will be used to analyse the data driven from the questionnaire done by 572 leaders; Explanatory Factor Analysis, T-test, Reliability, and correlation tests would as well be used for analysis. The results indicate that most organizations follow a transformational leadership style as it is the preferred style to offer them with the greatest benefit, however it was visible from the analysis that government sectors still follow and opt to use the transactional style in compared to private organizations. The proliferation of artists, audiences, and participants who have the ability to create mirror copies of original digital media arts work challenges us to re-examine how value is assigned to digital media arts work.  Historically, space and capital limitations restricted the public’s accessibility to artwork, but the growth of mass digital reproduction and alternative forms of art exhibition spaces is having a profound effect on the experience and valuation of digital media arts work.  For example, the online distribution of digital media arts work across networks facilitates the circumvention of traditional valuation models.  In this paper, I explore the background and challenges to assigning value to digital media arts work and investigate alternative models of exhibition and valuation of digital media arts work in the institutional, private, and public spheres.

The author begins the paper with a brief historical perspective of global capital flows to developing economies. He then presents the theoretical underpinnings and methodology employed during the research. This is followed by the review of the literature. Next, the researcher outlines his findings. He also analyzes economic strategies to attract global private capital flows and policy implications for decision makers in developing economies. The author ends the paper with some policy recommendations and the way forward for economic growth and sustainable development.

RESUMEN: Este documento muestra el conflicto que en distintas partes del mundo se da entre trabajo y familia, que para el caso de las mujeres tiene connotaciones especiales, habida cuenta de los procesos de socialización de la identidad femenina. En este sentido alude al vínculo entre género, subjetividad e identidad que en este estudio tanto en lo teórico como en lo empírico muestran algunos obstáculos que detienen la carrera laboral de las mujeres por encontrar irreconciliable el ámbito laboral y el trabajo familiar. ABSTRACT: The opposition between the family and the job, particulary for the women, gibven the current socialization o the female identity, is illustrated in this work. We argue that women find obstacles in their career prospects from both theorethical and empirically perspectives, due to that opposition. We deal with gender, subjectivity and identity.

Since the 1990s, English universities have adopted various modes to raise finance to fund their expansion plans. Public, Private and Private Finance Initiatives (PFI) were the three modes adopted by English universities to raise funds via bonds. Greenwich University issued public bonds in 1998. After a long interval, Cambridge University issued public bonds worth £350 million in 2012. Moody’s Investor Service gave an AAA debt rating to Cambridge University’s bond issue with due maturity in 2052 with a 3.75% coupon rate. According to industry analysts, the AAA rating denoted the strong market position of Cambridge University with considerable liquid assets, stable revenues and strong governance structure. Cambridge University had planned to use such proceeds for creating accommodation and increase its financial independence. But, industry observers felt that both Lancaster University and Greenwich University had unfavourable experience of issuing public bonds. Meanwhile, ‘The Higher Education Funding Council for England’ had reduced the level of grants given to the universities, which forced them to look out for options for availing funds at a cheaper rate. It remained to be seen whether investors would continue to hold on to their faith on Cambridge University’s repayment capabilities as both Lancaster University and Greenwich University had burnt their figures via issue of public bonds.
