Residents

Tourism and the cultural sector have become the joint promoters of cultural heritage, thus helping spread traditional values and knowledge widely. Such processes have been particularly apparent in 2018, the European Year of Cultural Heritage. Communities provide a core role for a country by keeping the authentic traditions and customs of its culture. Traditional tourist destinations sometimes now suffer from too many tourists, with a number of problems arising for the local residents (overtourism). Therefore, the researchers advocate support for small rural areas through cultural tourism and as a result, the preservation of cultural heritage and local traditions. Two cases will be presented to illustrate the relevance of an optimum destination management: Numantia, an archaeological site in Spain, and the Westhoek, a natural and historic site, in Belgium.

La participation de la population à la prévention de la délinquance s’est trouvée encouragée au Japon, notamment depuis les années 1990, sous l’influence de la théorie de la vitre cassée. En regard de l’Amérique du Nord ou de la France, par exemple, force est d’y constater une importance plus marquée accordée à l’éducation morale, à laquelle répond un moindre degré d’encadrement par la police. Reposant sur l’analyse de documents remontant aux années 1970 jusqu’à aujourd’hui ainsi que sur des enquêtes de terrain (observations directes, entretiens semi-directifs), notamment à Tokyo (Shibuya et Suginami), cet article vise à décrire la manière dont les concepts états-uniens furent traduits par divers acteurs (cadres policiers, chercheurs, urbanistes, acteurs de terrain) de sorte que s’effectue un rapprochement entre police et population, le rôle des riverains en matière de maintien de l’ordre s’en trouvant dès lors accru. En effet, au moindre signe jugé problématique, cette nouvelle dynamique amène la population à informer les forces de l’ordre, leur intervention étant de ce fait justifiée. Dans le cas d’un quartier commercial, cet aspect revêt un caractère répressif, tout en étant légitimé par la défense de la prospérité économique locale. Un profilage des individus « à risque » apparaît alors, notamment à l’égard des jeunes adolescents et des étrangers. Dans les quartiers résidentiels, en revanche, la diffusion et la traduction de la théorie de la vitre cassée apparaissent plutôt comme un moyen de mettre en valeur le rôle moral des personnes âgées. Ainsi, en instrumentalisant la notion de société civile, la police parvient à se rapprocher d’une certaine partie de la population.

The participation of the population in the prevention of delinquency has been encouraged in Japan, especially since the 1990s, under the influence of the broken windows theory. In comparison with North America or France, for instance, we observe a marked importance of moral education and a lesser degree of supervision by the police. Based on the analysis of documents since the 1970s as well as on field surveys (direct observations, semi-structured interviews), especially in Tokyo (Shibuya and Suginami), this article aims to clarify the ways in which the American concepts have been translated by various actors (representatives of law enforcement, researchers, urban planners, residents) in order to justify a closer relationship between the police and the population and the increasing role of residents in crime prevention. Indeed, at the slightest sign considered problematic, this new dynamic leads the population to inform the forces of law and order, thus justifying their intervention. In the case of commercial districts, the actors are repressive, while legitimizing their actions by saying that they are defending elements of local prosperity. A profiling of individuals “at risk” then develops, especially with regard to young adolescents and foreigners. Whereas, in residential areas, the broken windows theory appears as a way to highlight the moral role played by elderly persons. Thus, by exploiting the notion of civil society, the police manage to get closer to a certain part of the population.

The main objective of this article is to critically evaluate the consequences of residential neighborhood crime. The research finding revealed a triangular nature of the consequences in that it burdens on the property and its environs; on government and its agencies and thirdly on the residents. This study believes that tackling residential neighborhood crime portends some benefits like the removal of fear of crime which will inferably boost residents’ health status towards efficiency of labour, boost housing investment, increase government revenue from property tax and in turn reduce public spending on crime control. All these efforts would translate to environmental sustainability.

Residents are key stakeholders of tourism destinations. Yet, to date, no study has investigated if and how residents can contribute to destination recovery when a disaster hits. The emergence of peer-to-peer networks offers an efficient platform for residents to open their homes to displaced tourists. Such help is particularly critical if key tourist infrastructure is severely damaged. But are residents willing to open their homes and help in other ways? The present study adopts a scenario-based survey research design, including Australians who live in tourism regions and Australian tourists. Results indicate that (1) segments of residents willing to support the tourism industry in disaster situations exist, and (2) tourists are willing to accept residents’ offers of support. The more immediate the emergency, the higher the willingness to help and accept help. These insights point to the potential of involving residents in destination recovery efforts.

SUMMARY Objective: To measure the predominance of the cerebral hemispheres (c.h) in the medicine residents and to find some associate factors as web the correlation that they would have with the strategies inadequate to coping the stress. Material and methods: We apply a test to measure the predominance of the c.h. to the total of the 48 residents of medicine of the National Hospital Cayetano Heredia. The results were contrasted with demographic – educational variables and with the strategies to coping the stress, that we obtained in a previous investigation. The results underwent the analysis bivariado and multivariado. Results and conclusions: 35.4% (17) of the residents showed a predominance of the left hemisphere (l.h.), which obtained a better mean qualification than of the right hemisphere (r.h.) and than the hemispheric integration (h.i.). The 6 residents with predominance of the r.h. obtained a better qualification in the entrance to the residence that those with predominance of the l.h.. In the multivariate analysis: having been born or studied medicine in Lima, the best qualification in the entrance to the residence program, showing interest for the results of the applied test and having studied in a state school, were the factors associated to the r.h. The abilities of the h.c. were correlated with some strategies to coping of the stress. Conclusions: The necessity to perfection the test of predominance the hemispheric integration, as soon as it would be associated with better academic, interpersonal aptitudes and adaptation to the stress.

The vernacular roofs in Iran served more than protective functions and were in response to the people’s behaviors. The case study has explored the different functions of the vernacular roofs regarding the people’s behaviors. It has focused on Kashan, as an ancient and historical city with hot and dry climate. The semi-structured interview has been conducted among the local master builders and experts, which respondents have answered to the open-ended questions. As the results show climate, religion, culture and economy affected people’s behaviors on the roofs and caused creating spatial, socio-cultural, spiritual, economic, recreational and passage functions of the roofs. In response to these functions, particular roofing strategies emerged, including aligned and connected roof, flat and double surface roof, staircase, partition walls around the roof, and some spaces on the roofs. Consequently, the vernacular roofs were in response to the people’s behaviors, improved physical and mental health, offered spiritual and intangible benefits. The study recommends professionals consider the people’s demands and behaviors during roofing in order to use all the potential of the roofs in residential buildings.

Squatters have now become integral part of urban centers in most developing countries like Pakistan, with Lahore experiencing growth of such informal settlements at its peak. A myriad of issues and challenges associated with economic, social, spatial, environmental and political contexts within squatters has become a great hindrance towards home improvement and better life style. Tenure security brings a sense of homeownership to socioeconomically disadvantaged households. Recently, promotion of increased security of tenure of all whether living in formal or informal settlements has been affirmed by New Urban Agenda of Habitat III. Therefore, it is need of the time to look into present tenure types of squatters being offered by the city to solve problem of housing backlog and to provide promote inclusivity ensuring healthy, affordable and sustainable environment for all inhabitants.
Proposed argument has got stronger foundation due to comparative analysis of squatter having secured land tenure with squatter of unsecure tenure. In this paper we explore that tenure security is one of the key factors which leads to resident’s stability, through case study approach by investigating two squatters based on their tenure types. The data collected through questionnaire will help us to identify other key factors associated with resident stability in squatters. Study reveals that limited secured tenure options and poor governance in present urban scenario projects as major obstacles in coping with urban sprawl and squatter settlements. Findings help us to understand the phenomena of inter-connection of land tenure security and residential stability of squatters in Lahore, suffering from housing shortage and informal settlements.

We researched local residents’ perceptions of a dam and reservoir construction project in the Teesta River catchment basin (Darjeeling Himalayas) within 1.5 years of its completion, using a questionnaire survey. Most survey participants expressed negative perceptions of the project, citing a declining quality of life (loss of jobs and loss of access to river sites that had been important for religious practices and livelihoods) and a sense of insecurity (risk of landslides). These results may help predict attitudes toward similar reservoir projects that are planned for the Teesta basin.

Similar to many developed nations, older people living in residential aged care homes in Australia and the staff who care for them have become increasingly multicultural. This cultural diversity adds challenges for residents in adapting to the care home. This study explores: (i) residents' and family members' perceptions about staff and cultural diversity, and (ii) culturally and linguistically diverse residents' and family members' experiences. An interpretive study design employing a thematic analysis was applied. Twenty-three residents and seven family members participated in interviews. Four themes were identified from interpreting residents and family members' perceptions of the impact of cultural diversity on their adaptation to aged care homes: (i) perceiving diversity as an attraction; (ii) adapting to cross-cultural communication; (iii) adjusting to diet in the residential care home; and (iv) anticipating individualized psychosocial interactions. The findings have implications for identifying strategies to support staff from all cultural backgrounds in order to create a caring environment that facilitates positive relationships with residents and supports residents to adjust to the care home.

Internationally, it has been deepening the studies in tourism, particularly in the last forty years. Several areas are interest to researchers, since the tourists’ motivation, planning of tourism, tourist facilities to residents’ perceptions, encompassing different stakeholders. Specifically on studies related to residents’ perceptions, there is increasing interest in addressing this issue. This is due, by the resident is an essential element in the practice of tourism. In Brazil, there are few studies to understand the residents’ perceptions compared with other topics in tourism. Observing this deficit and trying to understand how this country is being worked on, the aim of this study is to analyze the publications on this topic in Brazilian journals in the last five years (2008-2013). From a survey of published articles, using the website "Publications Tourism", twenty-two articles were identified. The analysis has shown that the studies are concentrated in the northeast region of Brazil and are essentially empirical and qualitative. With respect to the bibliography, it is still reduced the number of international articles used. It was concluded that there is need for better use of statistical tools, both as regards the definition of the samples, and in the analysis of results. To compare the results of studies, particularly with studies from other countries is also needed. Such actions may give more credibility to Brazilian publications.

The ancient village is a combination of material cultural heritage and intangible cultural heritage, a lively carrier of the unique rural features of the countryside, a time projection of rural construction and development, and a traditional cultural space carrying old culture. Tourism in ancient villages is the main way for tourists to understand historical culture and experience live folk culture. Since urbanization, it has been the focus of attention in the development of tourism. However, with the continuous advancement of urbanization and the development of rural tourism, rural space has been reshaped, especially the commercialization of tourism in the ancient village cultural space (AVCS) and the imagination of the residents’ good life is in sharp conflict. Therefore, it is necessary to re-examine and adopt sustainable development strategy to fully excavate and make good use of AVCS and make it a sustainable tourism resource. This article takes Cangpo Village, Wenzhou, China as an example, and uses participatory observation and semi-structured interview to explore the related priorities of AVCS as a sustainable tourism resource. Research illustrates that from the perspective of residents, the sustainability of AVCS is a comprehensive concept, influenced by a sense of local identity, cultural pride, and the identity of residents as being exhibited. Residents’ attitudes towards the display, dissemination and promotion of living spaces have weakened their positive perceptions and enhanced their negative perceptions, showing a trend of transition from the ‘harmony’ stage to the ‘indifferent’ stage. In order to make AVCS a sustainable tourism resource, transform the top-down tourism management concept, the residents become the main body of the cultural space display, the development of tourism and the imagination of the residents’ good life develop in parallel, so as to seek the harmony between the cultural space and the residents symbiosis is very necessary. This article is a re-examination and revalue identification of the development of AVCS so far. In the era of new technologies, it is of such significance to think of AVCS as sustainable resources and to supplement the literature.

Yerel halk, bir bölgedeki turizm gelişiminden hem etkilenen hem de bu gelişim sürecini etkileyen bir unsurdur. Yerel halkın turizme yönelik olumlu algıları turizm gelişimine ve turistlere yönelik olumlu tutumlar doğururken, olumsuz algılar olumsuz tutumları beraberinde getirmektedir. Bu etkileşim ilgili alanyazında sosyal değişim teorisi, bütünleşik tehdit teorisi vb. gibi çeşitli kuramlar ile açıklanmaya çalışılmıştır. Bu çalışmada ise yer kimliği ve topluluğa bağlılık yaklaşımları esas alınmıştır. Kimlik kuramına dayanarak geliştirilmiş olan bu faktörler, bireyin kimlik bileşenlerinin davranışları üzerinde etkili olduğunu ileri sürmektedir. Bu açıdan ele alındığında, bir bölgedeki turizm faaliyetlerinin o bölgede yaşayan bireylerin kimliği ile uyumlu olup olmadığı ve bu durumun turizme yönelik algı ve tutumlar üzerindeki etkisi incelenmesi gereken bir konudur. Buradan hareketle araştırmanın amacı yerel halkın yer kimliğinin ve topluluğa bağlılığının, sürdürülebilir turizm tutumu üzerindeki etkisini ortaya çıkarmaktır. Seferihisar'da yaşayan ve kolayda örnekleme yöntemi ile tespit edilmiş 500 kişiden anket tekniği kullanılarak veri toplanmıştır. While the positive perceptions of the local people towards tourism give rise to positive attitudes towards tourism development and tourists, negative perceptions bring along negative attitudes. It has been tried to be explained with various theories such as social change theory, integrated threat theory, etc. In this study, place identity and community loyalty approaches are taken as basis. In this study, developed on the basis of identity theory, suggest that the individual has an impact on the behavior of identity components. From this point of view, whether tourism activities developing in a region are compatible with the identity of the individuals living in that region and the effect of this situation on the perceptions and attitudes towards tourism is an issue to be examined. Objective: To know the strategies that were used for medical residences to affront the stress and some factors that influence in it. Material and Methods: The Carver's inventory for mode of affronting he stress were applies to all of the 49 residents of the medical department at the National Hospital Cayetano Heredia, and we registered too: the age, year of residence, gender, marital status, specialty and place of born. The results were processed statistically. Results: The inadequate affronts of the stress that were more for the residents were those focus in the emotions, employing 67.3% the acceptation-resignation. Some of the characteristics of the residents had some influence in the use of the looking for social support for instrumental reasons and in the use of the religion. 32.7% of the residents used with regular frequency the inadequate affronts that were focused in the problem and 2.9% the focussed in the emotions. The residents more inadequate in the affront of the emotion were younger than the rest or were studying the first year most of them. Conclusion: Near the half of the residents reveal difficulties in the emotional side of the stress, and this fact affects the medical-patient relationship and their productivity, for that reason its necessary to decrease the hospital stress or teach them strategies that strength their capacity for affront it.

This pilot study randomly selected five nursing homes, five assisted living facilities, and 16 family care homes from a South-Central state in the US to identify correlates of resident psychosocial status. In-person and telephone interviews were conducted with administrators and resident-family-staff triads (n = 79) to gather information on setting, resident functional status, family involvement, sociodemographic context, and resident psychosocial status. Results indicated that type of facility, resident health conditions, resident race, and facility family orientation were significantly correlated with dimensions of resident psychosocial status. The findings suggest that multiple informants are necessary to determine the processes that lead to residents' quality of life, and the consideration of diverse settings offers greater insight into how positive resident adaptation is achieved in long-term care.

Öz Bu çalışmanın amacı, Göreme Kasabası yerel halkının gastronomi turizmi kavramına bakış açılarının ele alınarak bu turizm türüne yönelik beklentilerinin incelenmesidir. Bilindiği üzere bir bölgede başarılı turizm faaliyetlerinin yürütülebilmesi için yerel halk desteğine ihtiyaç vardır. Bu nedenle Göreme kasabasında yaşayanların gastronomi turizmi kavramına yönelik algıları ve beklentilerinin ele alınması destinasyon düzeyinde karar mekanizmalarına katkı sağlaması açısından önemlidir. Çalışma kapsamında iki aşamalı bir araştırma yapılmış ve ilk aşamada 41, ikinci aşamada 86 katılımcıdan veri toplanmıştır. Birinci aşamada kavram çağrışım testleri kullanılarak gastronomi turizmi kavramının ağacı oluşturulmuş ve yorumlanmıştır. İkinci aşamasında ise Kano Modeli yöntemi kullanılarak yerel halkın bu turizm türüne yönelik beklentileri incelenmiştir. Çalışma bulguları doğrultusunda, yerel halkın gastronomi turizmine yönelik kavramsal bilgisinin olduğu söylenebilir. As it is known, local people support is needed in order to carry out successful tourism activities in a region. For this reason, it is important to address the perceptions and expectations of people living in the town of Göreme about gastronomy tourism, in terms of contributing to the decision-making mechanisms at the destination level. Within the scope of the study, a two-stage research was conducted. In the first stage, the concept tree of gastronomy tourism was created and interpreted by using concept association tests. In the second stage, the expectations of the local people for this type of tourism were examined by using the Kano Model method. In line with the findings of the study, it can be said that local people have conceptual knowledge about gastronomic tourism. In line with the findings of the Kano Model method, the expectations of the local people for gastronomic tourism were classified and suggestions that could be useful for decision makers in terms of planning, policy and strategy development were presented.

З метою оподаткування фізичних осіб з’ясовується їх резидентський статус. Відповідно до Податкового кодексу України (надалі – ПКУ), у разі якщо державу, в якій фізична особа має центр життєвих інтересів, не можна визначити, або якщо фізична особа не має місця постійного проживання у жо-дній з держав, вона вважається резидентом, якщо перебуває в Україні не менше 183 днів (включаючи день приїзду та від’їзду) протягом періоду або періодів податкового року. Якщо за допомогою основних критеріїв неможливо визначити резиде-нтський статус особи, то підлягає застосуванню правило, відповідно до якого всі фізичні особи, що фактично перебувають в межах податкової юрисдикції держави цілісно або сумарно протягом 183 днів одного податкового року, вва-жаються фіскальними резидентами України. Даний критерій стосується пере-важно іноземців та осіб без громадянства, що тривалий час перебувають на території України. Таким чином, законодавче регулювання критерію фактичного перебу-вання на території України при визначенні статусу податкового резидента є належним та відповідає законодавству розвинених країн, однак, враховуючи відсутність регулювання на підзаконному рівні процедурних аспектів, створюються умови для некоректної правозастосовчої практики. Строк перебу-вання, як спеціальне правило Модельної конвенції також потребує процедурного уточнення для його належного застосування.

The Groves of the Albolafia is an emblematic area for its landscape and environmental value and because it’s a natural monument placed in the historical hull of the city of Córdoba, Heritage of the Humanity. The present work has the objective to measure the impact of the recent intervention realized over the vegetation has had on the landscape and tourism. Therefore the landscape evolution has been analysed and the residents and visitors have filled polls about the perception of the renovated area. The results reveal a widespread dissatisfaction, more intense for the residents than for the visitors. Additional, the resident groups think that there has not been promoted a previous sufficient and effective participation that had generated a greater social consensus.

"The use of tobacco is a major cause of preventable mortality. The estimated number of smokers is 1.1 billion. Of these, 700 million men and 100 million women are in developing countries. The objective of this study was to find out attitude towards tobacco consumption among residents of Dhankuta Municipality. The cross-sectional study was conducted among the residents of Dhankuta Municipality where 205 households were taken as subjects. Pretested semi-structured questionnaire was administered to the study subjects and face to face interview was conducted. The collected data was entered in MS Excel 2000. The quantitative data was analyzed using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) software package. The study subjects consist of 50.2% of male and 49.8% of female. Regarding respondent's education, study population showed high level of SLC and above (40.5%) followed by below SLC (36.1) and very less was illiterate (14.1%). Majority of the respondents think that there should be ban of the advertising of tobacco products (87.3%) and smoking in public places (79%). Almost 67% of respondents think that patient's chances of quitting smoking will be increased if health professionals will give advice to patients. Almost 72.6% of the study population feel cut down tobacco use and 80.3% feel guilty about this habit. Almost 65.8% have tried to discontinue tobacco consumption. We conclude that the residents of Dhankuta reflect good attitude towards cessation of tobacco but poor practice to prevent of tobacco consumption. Ulaşım teknolojilerinde yaşanan gelişmeler Dünya genelinde turizm faaliyetlerine katılan kişi sayısını her geçen yıl daha da arttırmaktadır. Bu sayıdaki artışın pozitif yanları olduğu gibi negatif yanları da bulunmaktadır. Bu negatif yanlarından biri de aşırı turizm (overtourism) olarak adlandırılan kavramdır. Bu araştırmada, son yıllarda turistler tarafından sıklıkla ziyaret edilen bir destinasyon haline gelen Eskişehir Odunpazarı Evleri bölgesi aşırı turizm açısından değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırmanın amacı ise yerel halkın aşırı turizme yönelik algılarının kent yaşamından memnuniyetlerini ne şekilde etkilediğinin belirlenmesidir. Araştırma kapsamında öncelikle aşırı turizm kavramının tanımı ve tarihsel gelişimi kavramsal olarak ele alınmıştır. Araştırmanın devamında ise Eskişehir Odunpazarı Evleri bölgesinde ikamet eden yerel halkın aşırı turizm ile ilgili algıları nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden anket tekniği kullanılarak ölçülmüştür. Odunpazarı Evleri bölgesinin çevresinde ikamet etmekte olan yerel halk oluşturmaktadır. Bu kapsamda örneklem olarak belirlenen 402 katılımcıya yüz yüze anket formu doldurtulmuştur. Toplanan veriler çok değişkenli istatistik yöntemlerinden biri olan yapısal eşitlik modellemesi aracılığıyla analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonunda aşırı turizmin alt boyutları olarak belirlenen çevresel, kültürel ve sosyal algıların kent yaşamından memnuniyeti negatif yönlü olarak, ekonomik algının ise pozitif yönlü olarak etkilediği tespit edilmiştir. Bu bilgiler doğrultusunda karar vericilere önerilerde bulunulmuştur.

The responses of government, public, researchers and professionals alike could have been boosted in need to tenaciously tackle residential neighborhood crime if there were enough research and publication on the diverse consequences of residential neighborhood crime. The main objective of this article is to critically evaluate the consequences of residential neighborhood crime. The research finding revealed a triangular nature of the consequences in that it burdens on the property and its environs; on government and its agencies and thirdly on the residents. This study believes that tackling residential neighborhood crime portends some benefits like the removal of fear of crime which will inferably boost residents’ health status towards efficiency of labour, boost housing investment, increase government revenue from property tax and in turn reduce public spending on crime control. Purpose City image has been defined as the sum of beliefs, ideas and impressions people hold regarding a city. While abundant literature has explored city image from tourists’ perspectives, few studies have explored residents’ perceptions, and even fewer have compared city image as perceived by tourists and residents. In addition, very few studies have compared tourists’ and residents’ perceptions of city image in small- to medium-sized destinations. Considering these research gaps, the purpose of this paper is to address city image in a medium-sized destination, Verona, in northern Italy with three specific objectives: to examine residents’ perceptions of the city of Verona’s image; to examine tourists’ perceptions of the city of Verona’s image and to compare the perceptions of the two groups. Design/methodology/approach The research was conducted through questionnaires collected among residents and tourists in Verona. Questionnaires were based on a multi-item scale addressing four dimensions of the city image. Findings The findings show that residents and tourists hold similar perceptions of city image regarding services and leisure, security and entertainment. The only significant difference in city image concerns the municipal facilities. Specifically, residents are more critical than tourists about this dimension of city image. Practical implications The research provides useful implications for policy makers and destination management organisations, and shows some strengths and weaknesses of Verona. Originality/value The study addresses the image of a medium-sized city that is typical in the Italian context, thus enhancing knowledge about city image. In addition, by testing and enhancing a scale previously used only to measure residents’ perceptions, the study provides a common measurement instrument to compare tourists’ and residents’ perceptions.

RESUMO Este artigo trata da mobilidade socioespacial dos rurais em pequenos municípios situados na Microrregião de Viçosa, região agrícola de forte presença do café. A mobilidade dos habitantes do campo, nestes pequenos municípios, tem se intensificado mediante a maior facilidade de acesso aos meios de transporte e comunicação que viabilizam a aproximação corriqueira com a cidade. Esta interação permite aos rurais estabelecerem múltiplas espacialidades, resultantes dos deslocamentos que realizam aos seus espaços de afinidade. O presente artigo objetivou compreender e identificar os espaços frequentados e ocupados pelos rurais na cidade, por compreender que os mesmos são reveladores do vínculo de pertencimento que estabelecem com à cidade. O estudo foi realizado no pequeno município de Araponga, situado na Mesorregião da Zona da Mata mineira, o qual tem na cafeicultura a base de sua economia. Realizou-se uma pesquisa cross-sectional com uma amostra representativa da população, composta por 94 habitantes da zona rural. Buscou-se identificar na pesquisa quais eram os espaços mais frequentados pelos rurais na cidade. Os resultados revelaram vieses de gênero na construção das espacialidades citadinas, as quais se configuraram como predominantemente locais e denotaram o sentimento de pertencimento dos rurais à vida da cidade. ABSTRACT This article talks about the socio-spatial mobility of the rurals in small counties located in the micro region of Viçosa, agricultural region of strong presence of coffee. The mobility of the countryside inhabitants in these small counties has been intensified due to the greater ease of access the means of transportation and communication that enable the everyday approach with the city. This interaction allows the rurals to estabilish multiple spatialities, resulting from the displacements that they make to their afinity spaces. The present article aimed to understand and identigy the spaces attended and occupied by the rurals in the city, by understanding that the same are developers of the belonging bonds they estabilish with the city. This study was realized in the small county of Araponga, located in the meso region of Forest Zone of Minas Gerais State, which has in the coffee crops the base of its economy. A cross-sectional survey was conducted with a representative sample of population, composed by 94 inhabitants of the countryside. We sought to identify in the rerearch whuch were the most attended spaces by the rurals in the city. The results revealed gender biases in the construction of city spatialities, in which configured as predominantly local and denoted the sense of belonging of the rurals to the life of the city.

Objetivo: Conocer las estrategias empleadas por los residentes de medicina para afrontar el estrés así como algunos factores que influyen en ellas. Material y Métodos: Se aplicó el Inventario de modos de afrontamiento al estrés de Carver, a todos los 49 residentes del Departamento de Medicina del Hospital Nacional Cayetano Heredia, registrándose además: la edad, año de estudios, sexo, estado civil, especialidad, y lugar de nacimiento. Los resultados se analizaron estadísticamente. Resultados: Los afrontamientos al estrés inadecuados de mayor uso por los residentes, fueron aquellos enfocados en la emoción, empleando el 67.3% la aceptación – resignación. Algunas de las características de los residentes influyeron en el empleo de la búsqueda de apoyo social por razones instrumentales y en el recurrir a la religión.
