Úvod: Tato studie hodnotí psychometrické vlastnosti české adaptace Škály suicidální ideace (Suicidal Ideation Attributes Scale, SIDAS) vyvinuté za účelem snadné online administrace a hodnotí její použití u LGBT+ osob. Metody: Pomocí konfirmační faktorové analýzy jsme zkoumali faktorovou strukturu a invarianci měření napříč jednotlivými LGBT+ skupinami ve výběrovém souboru 1 778 zúčastněných. Výsledky: Naše data podporují jednofaktorovou strukturu SIDAS a částečnou invarianci měření, což umožňuje porovnávání suicidální ideace mezi jednotlivými skupinami LGBT+ osob. SIDAS koreluje se škálami měřícími pocit osamělosti, dysregulaci emocí, vnímaný stres, ruminaci a životní spokojenost. Diskuse: SIDAS představuje cenný nástroj pro hodnocení sebevražedných myšlenek u LGBT+ osob, je vhodný pro online použití a má potenciál usnadňovat vývoj, plánování i vyhodnocování účinnosti cílených intervencí. Budoucí výzkum by měl prozkoumat stabilitu skóru v čase a vývoj dalších proměnných pro hodnocení závažnosti suicidality.

Summary in English (article is in German): Like every concept, the concept of the “dialogic triad” in Gestalt Theoretical Psychotherapy is based on certain core assumptions. Central in this is the assumption that there are interrelationships between the client's “inner speech”, her dialogs “outside” in everyday life and her dialogue with her therapist, all these can be addressed therapeutically. The article examines the question of whether there are research findings that should be considered in addition to clinical evidence with regard to such assumptions. This is preceded by two preliminary explanations: What is meant by “inner speech” and how is the threefold relational focus of the “dialogic triad” to be understood? After a review of the relevant history of related ideas in psychotherapy, the main part of the article is devoted to the presentation and discussion of various empirical research studies that have dealt with “self-acceptance” and “other-acceptance”.

Couples who experience infertility get stigma from their environment which can effect various aspects of their life: psychological, physical and social performance. Most couples only get treatments that focuses only on medical efforts and ignores the psychological aspects. The purpose of this research is to obtain in-depth information about how subjects give the meaning of his/her infertility experiences. This study used qualitative method with phenomenological approach. There are four subjects (two husbands and two wives). Data retrieval is done by semi-structured interviews, then thematically analyzed. The results revealed several themes about how the subject view his experience. These themes are emotions, coping strategies, the main sources of strength, and lessons that can be learned. The results of this study can be considered by medical personnel or researchers who want to design psychological treatment in married couples who have infertility

The article describes the psychological study determining the factors that support fundamental assumptions of students with disabilities. We have determined correlations between psychological hardiness of students with disabilities and their system of fundamental assumptions; beliefs in the benevolence of the surrounding world and people, in the meaningfulness of some events, in a chance to build successfully one’s own life and in one’s own luck have a significant influence on psychological hardiness. The predictors of psychological hardiness of students with disabilities are: positive interactions with the outside world; self-acceptance as a conscious acceptance of various aspects of one’s own personality; personal autonomy, which allows an individual to independently determine their own behaviour, assess adequately their capabilities and resist external influences.

This study aimed to investigate the combined effects of classical music and color on short-term memory performance. A sample of 20 university students as participants was randomly assigned to experimental and control groups. Levene's Test was employed to assess the equality of variances between the groups, yielding a non-significant p-value (0.072 > 0.05), suggesting equal variances. Subsequently, a t-test assuming equal variances showed a non-significant result (p = 0.127 > 0.05). This implies no significant difference in short-term memory performance between the experimental and control groups. The findings contrast with prior research demonstrating the potential of classical music and color to enhance memory. While music's influence on cognition is established, this study suggests that their combined effects might not significantly enhance short-term memory. However, further research is recommended to explore various factors influencing this interaction and its pote...

When talking about human well-being, Unconditional Self-acceptance represents one of the cores. Although researchers have focused on various predictors of Acceptance, there is not a clear understanding of personal values impacting the process of accepting oneself. The aim of the research was to explore the association between basic values and unconditional self-acceptance, and to find out the role of psychological flexibility in this relationship. 370 participants filled the questionnaires to explore basic values, unconditional self-acceptance and psychological flexibility. As data showed, self-transcendence and openness to change predict higher level of psychological flexibility, however, only openness to change possesses positive predictive power for unconditional self-acceptance. Mediation model indicates that basic value system of openness to changes is the one, which reflected on individual’s higher psychological flexibility, and through this flexibility she/he achieves higher ...

Background: Life in a Prison or a closed Penitentiary always attracts researchers or academics to discuss because of the many problems of life, how to adapt, and how to socialize with a new life in prison. The problems often faced are Self-acceptance and anxiety. Self-acceptance is someone's satisfaction with sleep, so that someone does not show feelings of fatigue, lethargy and anxiety. Poor Self-acceptance can result in decreased activity of the prefrontal cortex which plays an important role in regulating emotions, one of which is anxiety. Aim: The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between Self-acceptance and anxiety levels in women-assisted residents in correctional institutions. Method: This type of research is Cross Sectional with a sample of 59 respondents with purposive sampling technique. Data collection using the questionnaire sheet Pittsbrugh Self-acceptance Index and Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale, with Chi Square statistical tests using manual ca...

The study aimed to elucidate the meaning of acceptance in relation to the lived body and sense of self when entering a pain rehabilitation programme. Six women and three men with long-term pain were interviewed. The interviews were analysed according to interpretative phenomenological analysis. The analysis revealed three different meaning structures, first: acceptance as a process of personal empowerment, "the only way forward". Here, the individuals expressed that the body felt integrated: a trusting cooperation between self and body gave rise to hope. Second: acceptance as an equivocal project, a possible but challenging way forward. The hopeful insight was there, acknowledging that acceptance was the way to move forward, but there was also uncertainty and doubt about one's ability with a body ambiguous and confusing, difficult but important to understand. Third, in acceptance as a threat and a personal failure, "no way forward" the integration of the achi...

This paper discussed the relevance of behavioural change, confidentiality, time management, rapport and genuineness in the pastoral counselling process. Each of them represents some of the skills, constructs or concerns germane to the function of the pastoral care and counselling practitioner. The mastery of these skills will go a long way in helping the pastoral counsellor fulfil his calling. Whenever these skills are not properly understood and demonstrated by the counsellor, the counselling relationship may be compromised.

This capstone is about women and self-acceptance. The title, The Right Reflection, alludes to the fact that none of us see ourselves directly, only through the reflections of others. Sometimes women’s reflections are distorted due to destructive cultural messages that women receive and internalize and maladaptive thinking they then develop. Books as recent as The Confidence Code (Katy & Shipman, 2014) and concepts a bit older such as the Imposter Phenomenon (Clance & Imes, 1978) point to the reality that women view themselves as less-qualified, intelligent and deserving than men or other women. This capstone explores the role of low self-acceptance in this phenomenon. Topics covered include the concept of self-acceptance, how self-acceptance differs from self-compassion and self-esteem, what contributes to low self-acceptance in women (sex-role stereotyping, patriarchy, sexism), thinking styles that contribute to low self-acceptance in women (rumination, perfectionism, explanatory s...

Objective: The present study was conducted with the aim of investigating the role of brain-behavioral systems and through self-acceptance in predicting the psychological well-being of retired military personnel. Method: In this research, 210 retired military personnel from Karaj city were selected by available sampling method and the subjects were evaluated by Riff's psychological well-being (1988), Chamberlain and Haga's unconditional selfacceptance questionnaire (2001) and Carver's questionnaire of behavioral brain systems or inhibition/behavioral activation. and White (1994) were reviewed. The data were analyzed using statistical methods of correlation coefficient and path analysis by version 23 of SPSS and AMOS software. Findings: The findings showed positive and significant relationship between psychological well-being and behavioral activation system (r=0.477) and unconditional acceptance (r=0.623) and correlation between psychological wellbeing and behavioral inhibition system (r=0.417). And conditional acceptance (r=0.542) is negative and significant. To investigate the mediating role of selfacceptance in the relationship between behavioral brain systems and psychological well-being, using path analysis and the unique contribution of two mediating variables were calculated with the Sobel test. The results showed that self-acceptance (unconditional acceptance and conditional acceptance) play a mediating role in the relationship between behavioral brain systems and psychological well-being. Conclusion: Based on this, it can be concluded that the variables of behavioral brain systems and self-acceptance play a role in the psychological well-being of retired soldiers.
