1. A thrust is to force or drive.


2. Educational thrust is responsible to promote the spirit of continuous learning and uphold the
highest standards of professionalism amongst the local architectural fraternity. The thrusts aims
to do the following Educational programs of talks and courses. Elevate standards of architectural
professionalism. Offer continuous learning, involve younger architect and students through
knowledge sharing.
3. The Department of Education formulates, implements and coordinates policies, plans, programs
and projects in the areas of formal and non-formal basic education. Its mission is to protect and
promote the right of every Filipino to quality, equitable, culture based and complete basic
education.
4. There are five key thrusts in the field of education:
a. School based management
b. Development of teacher education
c. National learning strategies
d. Quality assurance and accountability
e. Changes to the administration of DepEd
5. The public school system in the Philippines was born in 1863, with the passage of the education
Reform Act in the Spanish Courts. Due to the compulsory education of Filipino children, separate
schools for boys and girls were established in every pueblo. Nowadays, education in the
Philippines is offered through formal and non-formal system. Formal education typically spans
14 years and is structured in a 6+4+4 system; 6 years of primary school system, 4 years of
secondary school education and 4 years of higher education, leading to a bachelor’s degree.
