Abstract: The aim of this study was to investigate the symptoms of anxiety resulting from social distancing and its impacts on the Brazilian population during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study consisted of a cross-sectional survey, with data constructed through an online questionnaire that included sociodemographic information and information about anxiety symptoms. The questions were constructed considering the concept of “mental health waves”, as being the mental health demands presented at the respective moment of the pandemic. The sample consisted of 632 participants, and the prevalence of anxiety identified was 81%, with no statistically significant differences between genders. The main factors related to anxiety were loneliness (OR=2.18, 95% CI=1.16-4.09), sleeping difficulties (OR=2.59, 95% CI=1.57-4.28), irritability (OR= 1.85, 95% CI=1.11-3.09), financial difficulties (OR=1.85, 95% CI=1.01-3.40), and problems related to emotional isolation (OR=2.43, 95% CI=1.47- 4.01). In the context of the challenges for mental health, the results obtained contribute to deeper understanding of the changes related to anxiety that emerged with the advent of social distancing policies and the context of the pandemic.

Homophobia at school is based on the existence of a normative sexuality to be followed. Since the school does not act effectively to extinguish it, young people decide to impose changes in their behavior to preserve their physical integrity. We start from the assumption that the body means a relationship between the subject and its socio-cultural insertion. The study data are derived from a master's dissertation research. It followed a qualitative descriptive design with non - probabilistic sampling, for convenience. We interviewed ten homosexual men between 18 and 30 years, victims of homophobic violence in schools in Manaus, Brazil. We used a semi-structured interview, conducted in place, time, and day combined between the participants and the researchers. Data were analyzed according to a theory proposed by Bardin (2002). We reached two categories: Embarrassment and stigmatization; and Changes, the body in focus. The first refers to homophobic aggression due to sexuality or b...

The new coronavirus pandemic is one of the biggest disasters in recent decades, a global public health issue. Considering that the role of emergency and disaster psychology is essential in psychological support, this study sought to analyze the main characteristics of mental health actions in coping with the first wave of the Covid-19 pandemic carried out by two public health higher education institutions in Amazonas. This is an investigation of a qualitative, cross-sectional, and documentary nature based on the following axes: organization, prevention and response. The social commitment of educational institutions in working in a network, in an ethical, political and solidary way was perceived in the framework of the collapse of health services in Amazonas.

Introduction:The Amazonas' State University provides Nursing, Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy degrees with the experience of Rural Training in Public Health. Two MD students had high expectations of experiencing health care in the Amazonas interior, as they realized that there was a lapse in their academic training. They questioned the fact that they were about to take the place of "doctors trained by the state of Amazonas" without knowing the population, ethnocultural and geographical variety of the region. This lack encouraged the choice of the location of the internship to be the city of São Gabriel da Cachoeira. Methods:Meetings and lectures were held with health teams that enabled clinical experiences and interactions with indigenous and riverside residents. Finally, seminars/activity reports were produced, which contributed to the awakening of reflections on medical practices. Thus, this experience report is based on the particular apprehension of the reality d...

Introduction: In 2011, the National Integral Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transvestite, and Transgender Health Policy was created, which marks a historical recognition of this vulnerable population, being a guiding and legitimizing document of the needs and specificities, reaffirming the SUS commitment to universality, integrity and effective community participation. Objective: To measure the knowledge of health academics about LGBT health, thus ascertaining the degree of knowledge based on the National Integral Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transvestite, and Transgender Health Policy. Methodology: Qualitative descriptive-exploratory research. The exploratory study investigated the familiarization with the phenomenon, the perception, and the discovery of ideas about the targeted subject. Results: Given the difficulties, discrimination, and violence that this group is exposed to in health services, there is a need for continuing education for health professionals, to be honest service and free of pre-established concepts and discriminatory. Conclusion: The effectiveness of the policy is to eliminate this barrier that exists in demand for care with people of the LGBT population, which leaves them vulnerable and excluded concerning other populations.

ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to investigate mental health care in primary care from the scientific production of the last 5 years (2015-2019), referring to the performance of the Community Health Agent (CHA), analyzing and describing the practices in mental health identified. The method used was an integrative literature review, with searches in the LILACS and SciELO databases. For the selection of publications, the following descriptors were used: Primary Care; Mental Health; Community Health Workers; Mental Health Care; Public Policies; Mental Health Practices and combinations of the descriptors. The following filters were used: Full text; Language, being Portuguese, English and Spanish; Main subject; Document type, being article the only accepted literature modality; Publication year 2015 to 2019. Through this search it was possible to identify 37 studies subsequently categorized into 5 main themes: Reception, Identification and monitoring of mental health demands, Strategy formation by community Social Insertion, Professional training in mental health for CHWs and Home visit. The main mental health care highlighted in the performance of the CHW in primary care are the qualified listening, pointed out in most studies as forming valuable links for the reception of users in mental suffering, the identification of mental health demands and monitoring of the user's trajectory through the co-responsibility of care, the knowledge of social support devices, resources of the territory that can help in addressing the demands of mental health in the community, the creation of care actions adapted to specific community situations. Access to antivenoms is not guarranteed for vulnerable populations that inhabit remote areas in the Amazon. The study of therapeutic itineraries (TI) for treatment of snakebites would support strategies to provide timely access to users. A TI is the set of processes by which individuals adhere to certain forms of treatment, and includes the path traveled in the search for healthcare, and practices to solve their health problems. This study aims to describe TIs of snakebite patients in the Brazilian Amazon. This study was carried out at the Fundação de Medicina Tropical Doutor Heitor Vieira Dourado, in Manaus, state of Amazonas, Brazil. The itinerary from the moment of the bite to the patient’s admission to the reference unit was analyzed. Sample size was defined by saturation. After an exploratory survey to collect epidemiological variables, in-depth interviews were conducted following a semi-structured guide. Patients originated from rural areas of 11 different municipalities, including ones located >500 kilometers from Manaus. A great fragmentation was observed in the itineraries, marked by several changes of means of transport along the route. Four themes emerged from the analysis: exposure to snakebite during day-to-day activities, use of traditional therapeutic practices, and personal perception of the severity, as well as the route taken and its contingencies. Access to healthcare requires considerable effort on the part of snakebite patients. Major barriers were identified, such as the low number of hospitals that offer antivenom treatment, poor access to healthcare due to long distances and geographic barriers, low acceptability of healthcare offered in countryside, lack of use of personal protective equipment, common use of ineffective or deleterious self-care practices, late recognition of serious clinical signs and resistance to seeking medical assistance. Health education, promotion of immediate transport to health centers and decentralization of antivenom from reference hospitals to community healthcare centers in the Brazilian Amazon are more effective strategies that would to maximize access to antivenom treatment.

Objective: To identify the central and peripheral elements of the structure of social representations of HIV/AIDS in health professionals from different categories of education. Method: a descriptive-exploratory study with a qualitative approach, supported by the theory of social representations in the structural aspect. It was developed with 58 health professionals from different education levels, higher and middle-level, in five services in the city of Manaus, AM, through the application of the technique of free association and hierarchization of words to the inductive term "HIV/AIDS". The data obtained were processed using the EVOC software and the structural analysis of the representations. Results: when comparing the representational structures of the two groups of professionals, there was a predominance of a negative dimension present in the central nucleus and some peripheral elements with equally negative features with the presence of positive elements, mainly outside the central nucleus. However, it is the same social representation that does not present structural differences because it is a group with a middle or higher level of education. Conclusion: the negative elements that remain in the central nucleus raise converging perceptions among professionals, which indicates the need to strengthen permanent education, expanding the reflection on HIV/AIDS in specialized units and services.

The Humanized Childbirth movement is characterized by the intellectual, technical, and professional union of several areas that focus on the quality of care received by pregnant women, babies, and family members during the process of childbirth. In the last four decades, specific knowledge about the birth process has undergone several updates, mainly concerning less interventionist assistance. However, in many contexts, labor is still seen as pathological or non-physiological and culminates in questionable interventions in the female body. This profound distortion in childbirth care is determined by multiple historical, structural, and cyclical factors that directly affect the way society in general and the health area, in particular, face the female sex. Thus, it is imperative to critically discuss childbirth care with contextualization of gender, cultural, structural, and scientific issues (Evidence-Based Medicine) to guarantee the protection of the person about violations of sexual and reproductive rights. The approach of this literature review focused on the multiple meanings of the humanization process of childbirth care, with the concern of being transdisciplinary.

Abstract Suicide is a universal, multicausal, and timeless phenomenon considered a severe public health problem. The data indicates that this phenomenon is the second cause of death in the group whose age group is 15 to 29 years old worldwide. It is the fourth cause in Brazil among young people of the same age group. In this study, we sought to understand the view of public school teachers about suicide prevention. Fifteen teachers from public schools of elementary and high school were selected. Discourse analysis was used as a method of data analysis. The results showed that dialogue and empathy welcome students, feel accepted in their pain, and speak openly about the topic. However, teachers mention that there is still unpreparedness and taboo to address suicide. The need was identified to develop projects that involve suicide prevention so that management, teachers, collaborators, in general, feel prepared to identify, manage, and refer to possible cases.

Introduction: The Amazonas' State University provides Nursing, Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy degrees with the experience of Rural Training in Public Health. Methods: Meetings and lectures were held with health teams that enabled clinical experiences and interactions with indigenous and riverside residents. Finally, seminars/activity reports were produced, which contributed to the awakening of reflections on medical practices. Thus, this experience report is based on the particular apprehension of the reality described, based on daily observation. Results and Discussions: During the internship, the students began to question and deconstruct the doctor-user relationship hierarchy. Conclusions: Thus, they re-signified their practices beyond technical and biological knowledge, in line with the decolonial epistemology. Objective: To quantify the evolution of COVID-19 cases from the analysis of reports issued by the World Health Organization from January 21 to May 31, 2020. Methodology: This is a descriptive, bibliographic and documentary epidemiological study, built with secondary data obtained from the reports of the world evolution of SARS-CoV-2, from the World Health Organization, from the initial period of the disease outbreak until reaching the pandemic level. The data were analyzed, categorized and presented in 3 stages: 1) Identification of the new SARS-CoV-2 to the Chinese epicenter in decline; 2) New epicenter and dissemination of COVID-19 by regions; 3) Epicenter of the Region of the Americas. Results: From the identification of the new SARS-CoV-2 to the Chinese epicenter, an explosion of cases was identified, initially in China, with several lethal outcomes in relation to confirmed cases. Then, several countries started to live with the reality of COVID-19, and the disease was declared a pandemic. Of the reported cases, several have progressed to serious illnesses including pneumonia and respiratory failure. Rapidly, the numbers of cases globally reached expressive marks. In Europe and America there was an increase in both new cases and deaths, especially in Brazil, while in China the number declined. Conclusion: In the present study it was possible to conclude that it is a serious disease, with a demand for strict and permanent sanitary control to reduce the potential for contamination. The analyzes show an accelerated spread of the virus with a negative outcome, a situation confirmed by the rapid expansion of the disease on all continents.

Objective: To analyze the perception that professionals have about the Trans population, the meaning of gender identity; To investigate the existence of training of these professionals on the guidelines of LGBT health policies instituted by the Brazilian Ministry of Health. Method: descriptive field study; exploratory and cross-sectional study with a qualitative approach, conducted with 72 nursing staff. Data were obtained through a semi-structured questionnaire with open and closed questions, self-completed by participants, and were treated following Bardin's content analysis. Results: The nursing staff has perception related to the misconception between sex, gender and sexuality, besides basic knowledge about gender identity. Most participants reported not having received any training during or after their professional training, and in addition to the lack of knowledge about public policies, there was evidence of non-use of the social name, even with the understanding of its meaning. Conclusion: This research revealed that the misperception about terms recurrently linked to Trans people, added to the lack of training of professionals and lack of knowledge about this population are the main obstacle to the promotion of comprehensive care and satisfactory reception in health services. It is understood as Educational Technology a set of mediators devices of the teaching-learning process that must contain a logical organization, so that they can be systematically planned, observed, understood and transmitted. In this scenario, the objective of this study was to analyze the literature on Educational Technologies applied to Health. As an methodology, an integrative review was carried out, consisting of a broad analysis of theoretical and empirical literature that aims to understand a certain phenomenon from studies above. The search was carried out in the CAPES database, the main Brazilian database, between 2013-2018, in Portuguese, English, French and Spanish through the descriptors "Educational technologies" and "Health", which were duly translated into the other languages correspondents. As a result, 30 articles were analyzed in two moments: individually from a literature review protocol developed and validated by the author of the study and together from the Content Analysis technique. In general, sixteen dependent and four independent technologies were found and it was realized that they were validated mainly by specialists in the field and by the target audience for whom they were intended. The theoretical anchorage found in the literature for the basis of the development of technologies was the Arch of Mangueares and six categories of analysis were found that discuss their use. Thus, it is concluded that technologies help in the process of training health professionals and empowerment for the process of treatment of users of services. Resources such as the applications end up facilitating access to health services, and the insertion of new technologies, especially those mediated by the Internet, has modified the educational paradigms

This study aimed to discuss relationships in families where there are homosexual children through a literature review of books, theses, dissertations, and scientific articles. It has been observed that Judeo-Christian precepts are the basis of the homophobia that sustains the violence that most of them live, but this violence is seen as a kind of correction that would bring the child to heteronormativity. There are three types of families dealing with youth homosexual: disintegrated, where conflicts increase after leaving the closet, feelings of shame, and rejection of the youth are very present. Ambivalent families, where parents have conflicting reactions in the family, regarding the sexual orientation of the youth and the love they feel for their child. Also, integrated families, where shame is little present, and there is an improvement in relationships after leaving the child's closet.

This study is theoretical review of a Master’s degree in Psychology dissertation from the Federal University
of Amazonas and discusses the phenomenon of violence in the intimacy of youngsters aged
15-29 years as a result of a review of narrative literature in qualitative approach. We analyzed books,
articles and dissertations that could contribute with the theoretical enlightenment reflexive of the
proposal. The findings were analyzed from a descriptive and critical perspective. The results point
to violence as a social problem that affects the private space of intimate relationships, and violence
in the intimacy of young people is the expression of gender violence, where the severity of violence
tends to increase with the passage of time in the relationship. Young people in situations of intimate
violence almost never seek professional help to deal with this issue and do not leave the relationship
and when they manage to leave, they end up engaging in chronic abusive relationships.
