This article aims to contribute to the limited literature on traditional gastronomic knowledge concerning acorn-based bread by ethnographically documenting the ingredients, preparation techniques and consumption practices of baked goods made from acorn seeds and flour that are still used today or at least still present in living memory. A qualitative comparative case method was adopted, and ethnographic data were gathered from 67 people in six selected Mediterranean, Central Asian and Middle Eastern countries. The analysis highlighted distinct trajectories in the development of acorn-based bread, showing some differences in terms of ingredients, preparation techniques and baking methods in the two cultural and geographical macro-regions. Die Leidenschaft und der Sozialcharakter des Sammlers sind, um es mit Walter Benjamin zu sagen, nicht mehr diejenigen des Kindes. Das bürgerliche Stadthaus als Ort “fremder”, durch Erwerb und Auswahl angeeigneter Kunstobjekte bietet eine symbolisch geordnete, kunstvoll erfundene Welt der Erwachsenen, die von unstillbaren Sehnsüchten durchdrungen bleibt. Hier kommen Aspekte bürgerlicher Utopie zum Tragen – einer Utopie, deren finale Wunschvorstellungen von Vollständigkeit und Heilung zugleich auch zum Scheitern verurteilt sind. Die scheinbare Rationalität der wohlstrukturierten Ausstellung enthält immer auch einen romantischen “Wahn”, als welche Benjamin das Paradoxon des letztlich unproduktiven Hortens von Kulturgut pointiert apostrophierte. Der sammelnde Bürger ist in dieser Perspektive zugleich individualisiert und “transzendental obdachlos”, sein Verhältnis zu den Objekten gleicht einem hermeneutischen Zirkel, der sich nicht widerspruchslos auflösen lässt. Diese durch und durch widersprüchliche Prozesshaftigkeit zu erkennen, wird auch für die Selbstreflexion einer zeitgemäßen musealen Präsentation ein zentrales Momentum sein, will diese nicht als rein antiquarischer Gestus begriffen werden.

Il progetto Valdesina nasce nel 2013 con lo scopo di presentare ai bambini del territorio alcuni aspetti del patrimonio culturale (favole e racconti fantastici da un lato, storia locale dall'altra) in una forma inedita e divertente, che potesse coinvolgere tutta la famiglia: idealmente infatti si sfrutta sia il meccanismo della pubblicazione a puntate tramite i post-prima settimanali e in seguito quindicinali-sia il momento di studio e preparazione dell'escursione con parenti e amici. A tal proposito, abbiamo creato un contenitore virtuale che presentasse la descrizione del luogo, la sua geolocalizzazione, alcune brevi indicazioni per raggiungerlo e, ovviamente, delle foto e delle informazioni a riguardo.

Nel paese in cui è nato mio papà esiste una piccola grotta naturale chiamata Pertus d’le Fantine (cioè “buco delle fate”) dove si credeva un tempo si nascondessero gli esseri fatati che abitavano le rocce poco distanti… Non c’è una leggenda precisa legata a questo luogo, se non che di notte le fantine uscissero dalla grotta per ritornarvi all’arrivo del sole.
Tutte le fate delle Valli Valdesi sono creature notturne, che vivono in anfratti rocciosi: forse perché l’origine di questa credenza risale al periodo del Neolitico, quando l’area era abitata dai Liguri, che praticavano culti di fertilità collegati alla Luna.

Un tempo, sulle nostre montagne certi eventi e segni naturali, in particolare quelli più grandiosi, benefici o distruttivi, erano attribuiti all’intervento di divinità ed entità ultraterrene. Fino a tempi recenti, erano soprattutto le streghe a creare le condizioni atmosferiche e terrestri più devastanti, e il loro lugubre profilo poteva essere intravisto sulle vette o fra le rocce, quando il lampeggiare dei fulmini le illuminava di una fredda e subitanea luce, o il momentaneo diradarsi della foschia le lasciava apparire, per poi nasconderle nuovamente.
Questi spiriti inquieti, ostili e spesso vendicativi si scatenavano durante tempeste e nubifragi, “sfasciando ponti, cagionando frane e slavine, seppellendo e devastando villaggi, chiese e case, rotolandovi sopra dall’alto immensi macigni” (1). Il loro intervento poteva addirittura creare avvallamenti o rialzi laddove il terreno era pianeggiante, arrivando quindi a mutare l’aspetto del paesaggio.
In Val d’Ossola, ai piedi del Monte Rosa, si diceva che a provocare maggior devastazione fossero due streghe inseparabili chiamate Streckala, o Streccala, ovvero “colei che tira” – trascinando rocce e terra per provocare le slavine – e Brennala, o Bregnala, la strega che spinge, seppur il suo nome significhi “colei che brucia”, o “l’incendiaria”.

Le texte traite de la structure sociale et familiale dans la région de Navarre, en Espagne, au début du XVIIIe siècle, en se concentrant sur un exemple spécifique de la maison Esparza ou Esparzena. L'auteure souligne le rôle prédominant des femmes dans la transmission des maisons et des terres, tandis que les hommes épousant ces femmes prennent souvent le nom de la maison. Cette pratique reflète un système matrilinéaire persistant dans certaines régions, où les femmes héritières transmettent non seulement leur nom mais aussi leur patrimoine. Les hommes épousant ces héritières sont souvent issus de familles moins fortunées, apportant principalement leur travail comme dot. Cependant, avec le temps, ces hommes parviennent à imposer leur nom aux maisons héritées, soulignant ainsi la valorisation croissante du travail. Le texte conclut en notant que malgré l'émergence d'un système patrilinéaire dominant, des coutumes matrilinéaires perdurent dans les régions isolées jusqu'au XVIIIe siècle.

Das Forschungsvorhaben zielt darauf ab, das reichhaltige Bozner Urkundenmaterial des Hoch- und Spätmittelalters als interkulturelles Erbe lesbar zu machen und seine europäische Dimension am regionalgeschichtlichen Beispiel herauszustellen. Das Ganze gehört damit in das Thema der Transferforschung, die bisher vorwiegend neuzeitlich ausgerichtet ist, so dass hier eine mediävistische Anpassung erforderlich ist.

So sehr die vallis Norica(na) (deutsch: Norital) in der Tiroler Forschung als fest etablierte Größe erscheint, so wenig sind die Motivation des Namens und die räumliche Funktion abschließend geklärt. Neue Erkenntnisse hierzu ermöglicht die Betrachtung im Rahmen der Genese des frühen bairischen Herzogtums und seiner besonderen Konnotation mit Noricum. Diese in die Frühzeit zurückreichende, enge Verbindung zum bairischen Herrschaftsraum wirkt fort im Umgang mit der " agilolfingischen Konkursmasse " (Joachim Jahn) nach dem Sturz Herzog Tassilos III. 15.15–16.00: Dr. Walter LANDI (Bozen/Innsbruck): Burg – Dynastie – Herrschaft. Die Grafen von Tirol und die Anfänge tirolischer " Staatlichkeit " Die Gründung von Schloss Tirol um 1100 stellt zugleich den Ausgangspunkt für einen nahezu zweihundert Jahre währenden Prozess dar, der in die Ausformung eines wichtigen Territoriums im Kontaktraum zwischen Regnum Italicum und Regnum Teutonicum münden sollte. Der Vortrag befasst sich mit den Anfangsgründen der Burg, den die Entwicklung begleitenden herrschaftlichen Dynamiken, mit den Gründen für die Übertragung des Namens der dominierenden Grafendynastie auf das werdende Land sowie mit der Herkunft der Grafen und den Umständen ihrer Verwurzelung " an der Etsch und im Gebirge ". 16.15–16.30: Kaffeepause 16.30–17.15: Dr. Martin MITTERMAIR (Pfalzen): Die Baugeschichte von Schloss Tirol im Mittelalter. Versuch einer Bilanz langjähriger bauhistorischer Untersuchungen Kaum eine andere Burg unseres Landes bewahrt einen derart dichten Bestand an mittelalterlicher Bausubstanz wie Schloss Tirol. Dieser konnte in den letzten Jahrzehnten bauhistorisch untersucht und dokumentiert werden. Im Mittelalter war die Burg Residenz und zugleich Mittelpunkt eines großen Besitzkomplexes, diese zentralörtliche Funktion spiegelt sich auch in der Architektur wider. Mit seinem frühen Entstehungszeitpunkt und seinen architektonischen Ausprägungen fügt sich der Komplex bruchlos in die Entwicklung des mitteleuropäischen Burgenbaus jener Zeit insgesamt. Der Verlust der Residenzfunktion um 1420 brachte die Bautätigkeit auf der Burg jäh zum Erliegen. 17.30–18.15: Dr. Gustav PFEIFER (Bozen): Landeswerdung durch " Übervogtung ". Zur Bedeutung der Brixner Hochstiftsvogtei zwischen dem 11. und dem 13. Jahrhundert Vogtei (lat. advocatia) ist ein schillernder Terminus und bezeichnet im weitesten Sinne Schutzherrschaft über Kirchengut. Die seit 1027 mit den Grafschaftsrechten ausgestatteten Bischöfe von Brixen hatten bei ihrem Herrschaftsausbau im 12. Jahrhundert vielfach die Konkurrenz der mit der Vogtei über ihr Hochstift betrauten Grafengeschlechter zu fürchten. Trotz ähnlicher Ausgangslage wie in Salzburg, wo den Erzbischöfen schließlich die Entvogtung und die Ausbildung eines Territoriums gelang, unterlagen die Brixner Oberhirten ab etwa 1170 dem herrschaftspolitischen Druck der Andechser, der Grafen von Tirol und der Tirol-Görzer.

The article presents the first results of a comprehensive edition of the abundant material from the Bozen municipal archive, which aims at opening up new sources from the early 13th century until about 1500. Sealed and notarial documents represent the cultural and formal influences from the regions north and south of the Alps. This performative aspect asks for an approach based on cultural studies, which avoids following national categories of perception as well as the meanders of the historians’ scientific community of the 19th and 20th centuries. In recent years, our knowledge about what archival sources actually are in their cultural rather than their material respect, has been basically challenged. Even though historical basic research is still fulfilling an irreplaceable function, it is equally important to develop concepts that are able to describe deeds, legal texts, and codifications as ‚soft’ social artifacts, beyond their actual ‚hard’ core as sources for historic data. These documents were, within social processes of decision-making in the medieval and early modern world, a kind of an operational fiction, which helped to come to terms with inconsistencies in public communication and therefore helped to organize social interaction.

Im Anschluss an den 2009 erschienenen ersten Band der Zweiten Abteilung des Tiroler Urkundenbuches,der die Urkunden zur Geschichte des Inn-, Eisack- und Pustertals bis zum Jahr 1140 berücksichtigt, werden im vorliegenden Werk erstmals die Schriftquellen der folgenden 60 Jahre, bearbeitet nach den Regeln der Diplomatik, gesammelt vorgelegt. Es handelt sich um 568 Urkunden, die den Bogen vom Beginn der Amtszeit Bischof Hartmanns von Brixen 1140 bis zum Wechsel Bischof Eberhards von Brixen nach Salzburg im Jahr 1200 spannen.

Rechte, Rechtsordnungen und Rechtsbekenntnisse dienten im Frühmittelalter als ein
gleichsam universales, interdiskursiv verwendetes Ordnungsmuster. Sie folgten damit bei allen Differenzen im Detail einer gemeinsamen „Grammatik“. Die Regeln und
Bauprinzipien, die den Leges, den Professiones und Gerichtsurkunden zugrunde liegen, formen diese und stellen sie in jenen gemeinsamen Rahmen, den man als sozialjuridischen Diskurs bezeichnen könnte. Der Beitrag bemüht sich, am regionalen Beispiel des frühmittelalterlichen Trentino-Tirols zu jenen Schichten vorzustoßen, die Michel Foucault „diskursive Formation“ bzw. „Wissen“ genannt hat, um damit den politischen und gesellschaftlichen Funktionen von „Recht“ auf die Spur zu kommen.

This paper deals with the sociology of the Easter plays or passion plays, that is, with
the specific cultural texture of the performance practice of the late medieval-early
modern era. In that regard, it discusses not only understanding urban performance
culture as a material receptacle of cultural and social actions, but also rudimentarily
defining those symbolic spheres through which the systemic and worldly components of the old European city were loaded and charged with meanings and assessments.
Comprehending play and city as the cultural text of that which is social first of all
requires more the raising of questions than the offering of answers which are not
possible both for reasons of time and because of the lack of a basis for research: the
social history of the Tyrolean Late Medieval Period and Early Modern Era is a field of
research whose treatment is only at its beginning. This is in urgent need of being
delved into more deeply: all one needs to do is think of the keywords „general public”,
„social inequality”, „urbanization”, „communication”, and „production of cultural
consciousness” – or rather social elements upon which a long duration has been
decided – to realize that it contains topics that are very exciting and thoroughly
relevant to the present day.
The paper works forward from the assumption that spiritual plays are a production
by religious practitioners but likewise also portray relationships of societal structure,
social mechanisms, and subject relationships of those involved. If we attempt to
historically pinpoint the play activity and to define its position in life, then we
therefore also get closer to a central „space“ of cultural strategies.
