Modem

This paper presents design and development of an Automated Home Control System (AHCS) using mobile phone. A cell (mobile) phone acts as a modem for the control of electrical home appliances. This is achieved when the mobile phone number is dialed and an appropriate command button is pressed. The paper demonstrates how to develop a system that aids the control of remote devices using mobile phones to enable devices without infrared though connected to power sources to be controlled and considering the possibility of users to monitor the status and usage of these devices. It makes use of a programmable interface controller (PIC) to control the switching of the output. This design is customized as a central device for four pieces of home appliances using relay to activate each of the respective electronic gadgets.

This paper presents to develop laboratory experiments on wireless communications using communication module SIM548C GSM / GPRS / GPS. In the development of the experiments we have worked on improving communications interface module SIM548C with PIC 18F4550 for data transmission. The teachers and students of the working group have improved laboratory experiments and the validation of experiments made, which includes codes and hardware support modules.

The main aim of the paper is modeling and simulation of fiber optic transmission. It also deals with ways to increase the capacity of fiber optic transmission links by using WDM (Wavelength Division Multiplexing) system. The parameters of the fiber optic transmission link were measured on a real optical transmission links and a model for simulation was set up. A simulation of increasing the capacity of a fiber optic transmission link was made in two ways. The first one is to increase the transmission speeds of the individual channels of the WDM system, and the second one is to increase the number of WDM system channels with lower individual speeds. The simulation results showed that the second method provides better quality of WDM service. The additional experiment was done on an existing ITU T G.655 optical fiber intended for WDM systems whose parameters were measured. Bit error rate and Q parameter for WDM system of 4 and 16 channel was used to check quality of proposed solution.

This system becomes necessary for the consumer to know as to how much electricity is consumed to control electricity bill within user budget. In this system, the consumer will get energy consumption data on a real time basis on an LCD display. The same data is sent through GSM modem to the electricity department via SMS. AT Mega 328P microcontroller is interfaced to the voltage divider and current sensor to get the Watt Hour pulses. The microcontroller then processes these pulses according to the program written in it, to calculate the units consumed and cost involved. The GSM Digital Power Meter is a single phase digital kWh power meter with embedded GSM modem which utilizes the GSM network to send its power usage reading using Short Messaging Service (SMS) back to the energy provider wirelessly. The user interface also consists of LCD which displays the amount of power consumed. The advantages of the proposed system make the existing system incompetent. It is possible to connect to remote areas as it employs wireless technology. The new system is user friendly, easy to access and far more efficient than the existing system.

Program ini dirancang untuk menerima input dari 3 sumber yang berbeda, seperti tombol (phusbuton) atau pun sensor, dan mengendalikan 3 output LED sesuai dengan kondisi input yang diberikan. The negligence of residents and the lack of a house security system are the causes of the rampant cases of theft. Technological developments are increasingly rapid, making technology can be applied as a security system at home. This can be a solution to these problems. In this study a home security system was developed in the form of a prototype. This study uses a microcontroller that can be controlled using mobile devices via bluetooth communication. The prototype consists of a keypad to enter a password as a substitute for a home key, a PIR sensor as a detection of human body heat movements, and a buzzer as an alarm. The results of this study are that the prototype has been realized where the servo motor has been able to open and lock by entering the correct password. Setting ON / OFF lighting, display information on the LCD, and ON / OFF PIR sensor from an Android mobile phone via Bluetooth communication are in accordance with the plan.

A functional diagram of a software-defined radio station using the method of transmitting information with modulation based on Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is proposed. The conditions for ensuring symbol synchronization of OFDM signals are investigated. It is determined that the disruption of the orthogonality of OFDM symbols is accompanied by such phenomena as the occurrence of inter-symbol interference and inter-channel interference. The method of constellation diagrams was used to study the effect of errors caused by interference on the quality of processing of multiposition signals.
