Wilno stanowiło istotny ośrodek  zakonny dawnej Rzeczypospolitej. Na podstawie archiwaliów i zachowanych starych druków omówiono księgozbiory wspólnot żeńskich tradycji mniszej, franciszkańskiej, reguły augustiańskiej. Wskazano ponadto typy rękopisów powstających w tym środowisku

A kutatómunka kiindulópontjaként egy 2016-os könyvtári felmérés szolgált, melynek során nagy példányszámban kerültek elő a Karcagi Nagykun Református Gimnázium régi, akkor feldolgozatlan könyvállományában 16-19. századi kötetek, melyekben „Georgii Csanády”, „Francisci Csanády”, illetve „Stephani Csanády” possessori bejegyzések szerepelnek. A kutatás fő vizsgálati pontjait ennek megfelelően a mezőtelegdi Csanády család története, kapcsolatuk Karcag városával, illetve az adományozott kötetek és a benne lévő bejegyzések vizsgálata adják. A dolgozat négy generáció férfitagjának, Csanády György, Ferenc, István és Béla életét kidomborítva mutatja be a családot és vele párhuzamosan a Karcagon megtalálható állományt, megkísérelve egy átfogó képet adni a família történetéről. A kutatás időszerű és hiánypótló, mivel a szakirodalmat áttekintve a család genealógiáját eddig nem taglalta egyetlen tanulmány sem, a karcagi gimnáziumban lévő kötetek pedig mostanáig feldolgozatlanok. A kutatás módszere levéltári, anyakönyvi és könyvtári kutató-feltáró munka, a kutatás célja pedig a család történetének feltárása és jelentőségük bemutatása Bihar megyében és a Nagykunságban, főként Karcagon.

Sahaflar Çarşısı tarihi üzerine kalem oynatan çoğu müellifin üzerinde amentü gibi birleştiği ortak yazım bulunmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı yerel tarih çalışmalarının aslî özelliği olan “genel tarihin molozlarıyla” yeni bir yazıma gitmektir. Yerel tarih çalışmalarının bir diğer özelliği olan “mekânsal sınırlarda kalabilmek” çalışmamız için geçerlidir Aynı zamanda kentin en işlek ve en kültürel yerlerinden birindeki değişimin nedenleri birçok yerde ve disiplinde aranmadan bulunabilecek durumda değildir. Hülasa tek başına yetersiz kalan mekân unsuru yerel tarihte “insanla” bir araya gelmektedir. Bu nedenle çalışmamızda çarşıya sosyo-kültürel bir mahiyet kazandıran Beyazıt’ın kent yaşamındaki yeri ve gelişimi aktarılarak günümüzdeki durumu verilmiş, ardından sahaflarda eski müelliflerin özlem duyduğu şeyler irdelenerek çarşının kültürel, mekânsal ve sosyal değişimi çeşitli açılardan ele alınmıştır. 
Çalışmamızda yerel tarih sözlü tarihle birleştirilerek değişimin tanıklarınca nasıl yorumlandığı aktarılarak kıyas ve analiz edilecektir. Bu “tanıklı ve insanlı” tarih yazımında, yerel ve sözlü tarih genel tarihle hemhal olacak şekilde verilecektir. Çalışma sürecinde görüşülen isimler İstanbul Sahhaflar Çarşısı Derneği Başkanı Adil Sarmusak, dört kuşak boyunca çarşı eşrafından olan bir ailenin günümüzdeki üyelerinden Türkmen Kitabevi’nin sahibi kitap satıcısı ve yayıncısı Mustafa Türkmenoğlu, çeyrek asır çarşıda bulunmuş günümüz Beyoğlu sahaflarından Halil Bingöl, çarşıya sonradan eklenen dükkânlardan olan Sultan Kitabevi’nde dini kitaplar satan ve çarşı geçmişine haiz bir kişi olan Fuat Sulay ve çarşı girişinde işportacılık yapan Hasan Özkaynak’tır. Çalışma sürecinde kayıt alınan tüm görüşmeler Fatih merkezli Bilim ve Sanat Vakfı’nın (BİSAV) Sözlü Tarih Araştırmaları Veritabanı’nda (www.sozlutarih.org.tr) DSpace üzerinden arşivlenmiştir. Ayrıca Beyazıt civarındaki değişim, üniversitenin çarşıyla olan ilişkileri ve İstanbul sahaflarını konuşmak üzere İstanbul Üniversitesi Edebiyat Fakültesi Bilim Tarihi ABD Başkanı Prof. Dr. Feza Günergun ve İstanbul sahaflarını iyi bilen bir isim olan emekli hekim Şeref Etker’le kayıt alınmayan bir görüşme gerçekleştirilerek sorular yöneltildi. Çalışma sürecinde yerel tarih çalışmalarında yaşanabilecek sorunlara da rast gelindi.

El objetivo de este trabajo pretende acercar a los alumnos de la disciplina al conocimiento del material antiguo, presentándose en cuatro partes. En la primera se exponen las particularidades de los primeros libros impresos (incunables). En la segunda parte se muestran los elementos constitutivos de un libro antiguo. En la tercera parte se hace mención de las encuadernaciones  que los caracterizan y para finalizar las marcas de propiedad con que las diferentes instituciones corporativas identificaban los libros.

Tipología editorial del impreso antiguo español, de Silvia González-Sarasa, fue la obra ganadora del Premio de Bibliografía de 2013 de la Biblioteca Nacional de España. Su autora tiene como objetivo el de ofrecer una herramienta de trabajo para el estudio del libro antiguo que, al igual que ocurre con las tipo¬bibliografías y otras obras de referencia, permita ayudar tanto a la identificación y a la cata¬logación como a la búsqueda de muchos productos editoriales. Para la compilación y la descripción de cada uno de ellos fue necesario el examen y cotejo de cientos de impresos anteriores a 1830 consultados en su mayoría en la BNE, junto al rastreo de fuentes de archivo y a la revisión de otras muchas fuentes secundarias.

Eine ganze Menge der aus der Bibliotheca Corviniana bekannten Werke waren bis zum Tod Matthias’ nicht im Druck erschienen. In der Mehrzahl beinhalten die Corvinen nicht die uns heute bekannten, vollständigen Texte. Unsere Aufgabe ist es, die Qualität der Texte, welche die lateinischen Übersetzungen griechischer Autoren enthalten, zu analysieren und zu präsentieren. Diese Analyse darf aber nicht durch Vergleich mit den heute bekannten Texten (editiones criticae), sondern anhand einer Nebeneinanderstellung mit den damals zugänglichen Handschriften und Inkunabeln vorgenommen werden.
Ein Viertel der erhalten gebliebenen authentischen Corvinen (216) enthält Übersetzungen griechischer Autoren ins Lateinische. In 57 Handschriften befinden sich Opera der klassischen griechischen, der griechisch-patristischen und der byzantinischen Literatur. Die ca. 100 Werke von 46 Autoren wurden von 32 Gelehrten ins Lateinische übersetzt.

Megaleh Temirin (Revealer of Secrets), first published in Vienna in 1819, is one of the sharpest and wittiest pieces of Jewish literature written in the first half of the nineteenth century, and is perhaps the most important piece of Hebrew prose composed before the stories of Mendele Mocher Seforim. A sly and complex story deriding Hasidism and Hasidim, it is told through the correspondence between the beadles of Hasidic courts and contemporary rabbis, and it presents a dark picture of  avaricious frauds and swindlers whose main concern was control over territory and the souls of believers, a goal achieved by beguiling the authorities and attacking all opponents. Perl lends his book a ‘Hasidic’ feel both in its physical design and in its language, presenting a Maskilic version of In Praise of the Ba’al Shem Tov that lays Hasidism bare so that no reader will ever be able to look at that, or any other Hasidic book, in the same way again. In addition to the book’s satiric sting, which would have been enough to bring its readers a dual pleasure, Perl’s hints at contemporary people and places, hidden within anagrams and numerological tricks. With the unraveling of these clues, which also include the use of actual Hasidic sources, the book is a valuable, contemporary view of historical reality. A meticulous reading of the book may therefore open a window on the hidden worlds of Hasidism and the Haskalah at the start of the nineteenth century.

The first volume (Imagined Hasidism) serves as an introduction to the complex satirical writings of Josef Perl of Tarnopol (1773-1839). At the center of the book stands an analysis of the satires, Megaleh Temirin (1819) and Bochen Tzadik (1838), including a systematic treatment of the ‘characters’ in the central works and a discussion of the dozens of manuscripts to be found in the Perl Archive in Jerusalem. Perl’s writings are analyzed here in the fuller context of Hebrew and Yiddish literature in general and Maskilic and Hasidic literature in particular, as well as other polemical writings and governmental records critical of Hasidism. The study thus presents a complex and nuanced picture of the relationship between literature and history, between the anti-Hasidic reports and the more complicated historical reality, and lays the groundwork for further research into the genre of nineteenth-century Maskilic satire.

The second and third volumes (Megaleh Temirin) present for the first time an annotated edition of Megaleh Temirin. It is based on the first edition and the scattered manuscripts and it includes a comparison to its Yiddish translation. The book is accompanied by appendices on its origins and contents, including fundamental treatments of several passages: an explication of the encoded names, the Hasidic sources used by the author, and the variants found in the manuscripts and in the only edition of the book in Yiddish.

The editor of the book, Professor Jonatan Meir, teaches in the Goldstein-Goren Department of Jewish Thought at Ben-Gurion University. He has published several articles on the Haskalah of Eastern Europe, Hasidism, and a number of varied topics in twentieth-century Kabbalah.

В статье подробно анализируется древнейший памятник книжной культуры Беларуси — Туровское Евангелие. Автор рассказывает об истории находки этого памятника, характеризует его содержание, язык, шрифт, художественное оформление и т. д. Особое внимание уделяется выяснению происхождения этой книги. Отмечается, что Туровское Евангелие является не только древнейшей книгой, найденной на территории современной Беларуси, но и одним из наиболее древних книжных памятников, созданных в Восточной Европе. Художественное оформление и особенности языка книги свидетельствуют о том, что она могла быть создана в середине ХІ в.

The most ancient monument of book culture of Belarus — the Turau Gospel — is analyzed in detail. The history of a find of
this monument, its contents, language, script, decorating, etc. is discussed. Special attention is paid to clarification of the origin of this book. The fact is noted that the Turau Gospel is both the most ancient book found in the territory of contemporary Belarus, and one of the most ancient book monuments created in the Eastern Europe. The decorating and specifi c features of language of the book testify that it could have been created in the middle of the 11th century.

New Romanian testimonies from abroad

The activity of recording Romanian testimonies that were kept
abroad following the method and success of Nicolae Iorga, Marcu Beza,
completed to perfection by the academician Virgil Cândea and his daughter,
Ioana Feodorov represents an unwritten duty for any historian or scientist.
During some scientific expeditions in Greece, especially Thessaly, and
Epirus, Mount Athos, old Constantinople and Ukraine, in Kiev, we were able to
identify embroidery works, icons, books, deeds, that remind us of the
magnificence of the Romanian voivodes, of the piety of the believers from the
Danube Principalities, that sacrificed part of their possessions for the
maintenance, prosperity and embellishment of the Sacred Places. These objects,
that possess a great spiritual and cultural importance, are to be found in libraries,
in repositories that are less accessible to the public, in museums and collections
that recently became open for visitation.
It is certain that, as new testimonies will be uncovered, new light will
add value to our past, to the people, their thinking and creations that bind us
together by thousands of unseen threads. These modest contributions are meant
to make whole this unending Romanian thesaurus that constitutes a real apostle
work of the Romanian soul from the entire world

Los libros son objetos preciados que, desde su aparición, se han atesorado y cuidado de las inclemencias del tiempo, de los daños de roedores e insectos, pero sobre todo de la rapiña. En Nueva España las obras acompañaban las labores doctrinales, intelectuales, sociales y jurídicas de sus habitantes, y pronto, existieron bibliotecas que, con el paso del tiempo, incrementaron sus acervos y su consulta. Esto obligó emplear exlibris y sellos que, de forma inmediata, identificaban al poseedor o dueño del libro; sin embargo, dichos recursos no detuvieron la pérdida de los volúmenes. Fue así que en México se crearon las marcas de fuego, distintivo que frenó el constante extravío de las obras. El presente artículo da una visión sobre los diversos métodos de marcas de propiedad que se usaron en Nueva España, en especial aquellos que se distinguen por sus tintes de originalidad, como son los exlibris numéricos y las marcas de fuego.

    Books are prized objects that, since their first appearance, were treasured and protected from the ravages of time, rodents, insects, and especially theft. Inhabitants of New Spain, used books in their efforts to evangelise, in their intellectual endeavours, in administration and in the Law. Libraries were subsequently created and, as time passed, their holdings grew and were increasingly consulted. This led to ex libris and stamps being used so that a book’s owner could instantly be identified. Nevertheless books still went missing. It was for this reason that the distinctive brand mark was developed in Mexico, and this slowed losses. The present article provides an overview of a range of ownership marks used in New Spain, especially the ones peculiar to the colony such as numerical ex libris and brand marks.

Digital libraries are crucial to the research in Humanities, requiring more efficiency and flexibility in tailoring the access to the information. The body of incunabula and antique books available on line is expressive and tends to correspond to the Humanities research demands, stressing the need to improve instruments to the research and access to the works content: text transcription and text markers; creation of connection points, such as summaries with the works textual and iconographic content; implementation of translation tools. Literature review about digital libraries was articulated with the Digital Humanities issues, consenting to characterise the current state research and to identify new projects in this domain; it was complemented with the research in book studies to describe incunabula and antique books concepts. The direct observation of digital libraries websites and incunabula and antique books collections available in digital libraries allowed to collect data about digital edition and research and retrieval data models, as well as to identify the incunabula and antique books specific features and the way how these interferes in making them available online. The research method included the interaction with a focal group with Humanities researchers with the goal of collect data about the way how they use digital libraries, the advantages and disadvantages towards their physical congeners and their expectations for improvement and better correspondence to the research. The results were validated by a Humanities researcher’s panel.

As bibliotecas digitais são cruciais à investigação em Humanidades, exigindo maior eficácia e personalização no acesso à informação. No caso dos incunábulos e livro antigo disponibilizados em linha, as exigências da investigação apresentam requisitos específicos de pesquisa e acesso ao conteúdo, de transcrição e marcação do texto, criação de pontos de ligação, nomeadamente, através de sumários com o conteúdo textual e iconográfico das obras e ainda de ferramentas para a tradução do texto. A revisão da literatura teve como referência o domínio emergente das Humanidades Digitais e o das bibliotecas digitais, permitindo caracterizar o estado da investigação, complementada com a investigação em estudos do livro para a descrição de incunábulos e livro antigo. A observação direta de bibliotecas digitais e de coleções de incunábulos e livro antigo disponibilizadas permitiu coletar informação sobre modelos de edição digital e de pesquisa e recuperação da informação, bem como identificar e avaliar as particularidades inerentes a essas obras e a forma como estas afetam a sua disponibilização em linha. O método de investigação incluiu ainda a interação com um grupo focal com investigadores em Humanidades com o objetivo de recolher dados acerca da forma como utilizam as bibliotecas digitais, das vantagens ou desvantagens que reconhecem na utilização das bibliotecas digitais face às congéneres físicas e das expectativas que têm para a sua otimização e maior adequação à investigação, e a validação dos resultados por um painel de investigadores em Humanidades.

The aim of the program is to take stock of Hungarian documents of
studia humanitatis with 1526 as a milestone. The census intends to register predominantly the use of (school)books in Hungary in teaching grammar, rhetoric, poetry, history, and moral philosophy.

A presentation of the medieval Romanian printings published in Bălgrad (actual Alba Iulia), the chief city of the Principality of Transylvania in 16th-18th centuries. The study lists the printed bools here and enhance their contribution to the development of Romanian liturgical language and the definitive forms of liturgical texts. The author demonstrates in particular that metropolite Antim of Iviria (archbishop of Walachia) used the liturgical texts published in Bălgrad (Alba Iulia), by the Archpriest Ioan Zoba from Vinţ, which were used also in some of printed books at Buzau bishopric, at the late 17th century.

As for many engravers of his generation, his time in Rome represents the moment of achievement for the Italian career of Jérôme David. Along with some minor collaborations with compatriots in the Urbe, the French engraver preferred working after Italian artists, such as Andrea Lilio and Antonio Circignani (known as il Pomarancio) proving a certain sensitivity towards the models of the great masters such as Francesco Villamena. The analysis of the engravings produced during his residence in Rome allows us to reconstruct with greater precision his collaboration with the painter and draftsman Antonio Circignani know as il Pomarancio, to whose name two attributive proposals are linked, along with a still rather unknown project of a series of Mascheroni (masks) after the Cortona architect Bernardino Radi.

Artykuł jest rozszerzoną wersją referatu wygłoszonego w trakcie konferencji "Małe miasta. Ślady przeszłości", która odbyła się w grudniu 2016 r. Została w nim omówiona biblioteka klasztoru dominikanów w Choroszczy na podstawie inwentarza księgozbioru zawartego w opisie powizytacyjnym parafii z 1828 r. Przeprowadzono w nim analizę księgozbioru pod względem liczby woluminów, miejsca ich druku i języka, w którym zostały wydane, a także układu książek w obrębie biblioteki. W zbiorach Biblioteki Uniwersyteckiej im. Jerzego Giedroycia w Białymstoku znajduje się starodruk pochodzący z rozproszonej biblioteki klasztornej (sygn. st-47) "Głos wołaiącego na puszczy augustynianskiey Jana złotemi ustami Chryzostoma Gołembiowskiego (...) to jest kazania na wszystkie, niedziele całego roku, podczas sejmów, tudzież na różnych miejscach przed majestatem JKMci miane przez WW OO Augustianów Warszawskich przy kościele św. Marcina zebrane" (Lwów 1757), odnotowany we wspomnianym spisie pod nr 200. Jego pierwszym właścicielem był o. Wojciech Jan Kanty Bagiński, po śmierci którego księga trafiła do biblioteki dominikanów w Choroszczy. Klasztor został skasowany w 1832 r., ale biblioteka pozostała na miejscu. Do 1855 r. pozostawała pod opieką ks. Józefa Szackiego, proboszcza w Dobrzyniewie. W międzyczasie księgozbiór uległ znacznemu rozproszeniu (1000 vol. w 1828 r. i 191 vol. w 1856 r.). W 1856 r. starodruk st-47 wciąż znajdował się w podominikańskim księgozbiorze. Po 1863 r. księgozbiór przeniesiono na poddasze kościoła parafialnego. Pod koniec XIX w. ocalałe księgi klasztorne mieściły się w zaledwie jednej skrzyni. Starodruk st-47 został zakupiony przez Bibliotekę Uniwersytecką na aukcji w 1975 r.

Resumen: Las librerías de segunda mano no proliferan en Tenerife (islas Canarias, España) o han tenido una vida efímera, en unos casos por su poca rentabilidad y en otros tanto por la ausencia de pautas de consumo de este tipo de materiales entre la sociedad tinerfeña, lo cual limita su demanda, como por cuestiones de índole social y sicológicas, como son el rechazo a utilizar objetos precisamente de segunda mano.
Una de esas librerías es Tenerifer, ubicada en San Cristóbal de La Laguna, frente a la Universidad de dicho municipio. Este trabajo es una entrevista realizada a Lorenzo Pérez Toledo y Miguel Ángel Hernández San Luis, dueño y empleado de ese establecimiento, respectivamente. 
Recoge dos bloques de contenidos, que nos permitirán un acercamiento más directo a la importancia que tiene el libro de segunda mano a partir de su experiencia profesional: comprender a grandes rasgos cómo funciona una librería de estas características y por qué aquel sigue siendo importante en una sociedad cada vez más digital.

Abstract: Second-hand bookstores do not proliferate in Teneriffe (Canary Islands, Spain) or have had an ephemeral life, in some cases due to their low profitability and in others due to the absence of patterns of consumption of this type of material among society. from Teneriffe, which limits its demand, for reasons of a social and psychological nature, such as the refusal to use second-hand objects.
One of those bookstores is Tenerifer, located in San Cristóbal de La Laguna, opposite the University of that municipality. This work is an interview with Lorenzo Pérez Toledo and Miguel Ángel Hernández San Luis, owner and employee of that establishment, respectively.
It includes two blocks of content, which will allow us a more direct approach to the importance of second-hand books based on his professional experience: understanding in broad strokes how a bookstore of these characteristics works and why it continues to be important in a increasingly digital society.

In Lithuania the earliest collections of books were centered in churches and monasteries. One of them was the library in the Cathedral of Vilnius. „Index librorum, in Bibliotheca Eccles[iae] Cathedralis Vilnensis” was written in 1598 as a part of the inventory of the church. Publication of the inventory is supplemented with comments and an attempt to identify all titles of books. The framework of the collection of books was influenced by internal orders and dispositions of the church authorities as well as the wills of bishops and canons. The writings collected in the Cathedral library were fairly typical for such kind of institutions: the texts of the Church Fathers, theological and philosophical authorities of that time as well as juridical documents. It’s a very interesting historical source, whoch analysis helps us to reconstruct the picture of the intellectual output of priesthood in the diocese of Vilnius at the end of the 16th century.

This is a manual written for the workshop "Introduction to Greek for the Cataloging of Rare Works". It served as basic text during the lecturing of the Greek alphabet, its peculiarities and its translation to the Latin alphabet. Its aim was to qualify Brazilian librarians and researchers to catalog and lead with works printed in Greek, found in Brazilian libraries. It teaches how to translate Greek titles into the Latin Alphabet for cataloging Greek works in the best possible manner.

This short essay considers the increasingly nostalgic life of physical books. From immaculate leather- bound collections to “dummy” libraries, in private homes or department stores, since at least the mid- nineteenth century, old books have enjoyed past- directed affective relationships with users and consumers, communicating continuity with, appreciation of, and longing for aspects of time past. These relationships, falling along a spectrum from library- as- utility to library- as- simulation, can be mapped onto different kinds of nostalgic experience.
