Energy Efficient techniques and management schemes are essential in Wireless Sensor Network, as sensor nodes are power constrained. This paper proposes an algorithm for energy efficient routing of Wireless Sensor Networks using an Alternate Medium Access Control Scheduling with Harris Hawks Optimization. A simple Mesh structure is proposed, by scheduling the alternate nodes to sleep/ awake and communicate the information to sink through Harris Hawks Optimization. The simulation results show that, AL-HHO optimization provides a design alternative that achieves significant energy savings by shortest path routing. The results also show that AL-HHO achieves longevity of the network on comparison with the traditional methods.

ABSTRACT Energy efficient techniques and management schemes are essential in a wireless sensor network, as sensor nodes are power constrained. To restrain the energy problem, it is important to have efficient deployment, scheduling mechanisms and routing schemes. In this paper, heuristics and optimisation techniques for sensor networks are analysed based on their algorithmic attributes for energy efficiency. A detailed view of various swarm intelligence techniques is discussed in context of clustering, routing and MAC applications. The proposed techniques and algorithms are discussed and compared through simulation results.

This paper presents generalised particle approach (GPA) to optimise bandwidth allocation and QoS in ATM networks. The generalised particle approach transforms the network bandwidth allocation problem into kinematics and dynamics of numerous particles in a force field. ATM traffic is bursty in nature; the dynamic bandwidth allocation is an important factor for network performance. The network utilisation is reasonably attained by dynamically allocating the bandwidth. In this approach of ATM network optimisation, GPA deals with variety of phenomena like congestion, failure and interaction. The payment policy of ATM network path determines the bandwidth allocation of network link. It changes dynamically to the situation of demands and supplies of bandwidth. The path particle and link particle move in their respective force fields and the bandwidth allocation is done through an iterative procedure. The algorithm is simulated using the MATLAB. The performance of network based on GPA is compared with the max-min fairness (MMF) algorithm. The GPA algorithm based control of network has better network bandwidth utilisation, success rate and price allocation.

In this paper two novel adaptation schemes
are proposed to replace the classical PI controller used
in model reference adaptive speed-estimation schemes
that are based on rotor flux. The first proposed
adaptation scheme is based on sliding-mode control and
the adaptation law is derived using Lyapunov Theory
to ensure estimation stability, as well as fast error

ABSTRACT Wireless sensor networks are generally composed of densely deployed sensor nodes that collaboratively sense, compute and communicate the sensed information. Routing in sensor networks is based on energy optimisation and quality of service. In this paper, a meta-heuristic technique comprising particle swarm optimisation and Tabu search (TS) is used for energy efficient routing in sensor network. The hybrid approach has better network performance compared with the traditional approaches, simple particle swarm algorithm and TS, respectively. Experimental results penlight the efficacy of the proposed approach.

Visual impairers are not a new augury for the society. It is a condition of deficient visual perception. Accessibility in the anonymous environment for the visually challenged individuals is more critical. They are more prone to fall in accidents since they cannot discern their surroundings. The wide availability of equipment’s which help the blind people are quite expensive and cannot be easily expanded. Moreover the most of the techniques prevailing to aid them with the help of IR sensors do have a drawback i.e. in the presence of the sunlight it won’t produce an efficient result. For overcoming these drawbacks, the current paper contributes two concepts. The First concept deals with the identification of hindrance such as trees trunk, opened doors, stair case, etc. This is done with the help of an Obstacle Detection Unit (ODU) which discovers the obstacle that are against the visually impaired by capturing the image of the object present. In the latter case, Navigation Tracking Device (NTD) delivers route for the impaired where they wish to proceed without any human assistance.

One of the major concerns in using IoT devices is life of the battery, especially in remote places where power resources are limited. By employing certain low powered sensors, the IoT devices with higher power consumption can be activated only when required. In this paper, a methodology is proposed for reducing the consumption of power in an IoT device which sends data from a RFID tag to an output file. The consumption is reduced by implementing sleep mode when, the device is not required to be active, and a wakeup signal and studying the impact it has on the power consumption. An energy harvesting device is also integrated to make the device selfsustainable. a. The factor of energy consumption is not considered while choosing the hardware components for the network, rather it is chosen based on its specifications. Thus, when the devices are connected in a network, thus the overall energy consumption increases.[2] b. The application developers usually do not get the feedback on energy consumption of each device thus impacting the usage.[2] c. The protocols defining the energy management have not been fully implemented.[2]

1. What is Avionics. State the role and importance of avionics. Avionics is a word derived from the combination of aviation and electronics. The term avionic system or avionic subsystem is to mean any system in the aircraft which is dependent on electronics for its operation. The avionics industry plays a vital role in multi-billion dollar industry worldwide and the avionics equipments accounts for around 30% of total cost of aircraft. The avionic systems are essential to enable the flight crew carry out the aircraft mission safely and efficiently. 2. Illustrate the overall picture with the roles and functions of Core Avionic Systems. 3. Enumerate the systems which interface directly with the pilot. The various systems which interface directly with the pilot are displays, communications, data entry and control and flight control. The display system provide the visual interface between the pilot and the aircraft systems. The data entry and control systems are essential for crew to interact with the avionic systems. The flight control system comprises of auto stabilization and FBW flight control systems. These systems form the first layer in avionics tasks and functions. 4. Write Short notes on aircraft state sensor systems. Aircraft state sensor systems is the second layer in avionics specific tasks and functions. The Air Data Systems and Inertial sensor systems are the classification of aircraft state sensor systems. The Air data systems provide accurate information on their data quantities which is essential for control and navigation of the aircraft. The inertial sensor systems provide information for the pilot to execute a manoeuvre or flying in conditions of poor visibility. 5. What is meant by Dead Reckoning Navigation System? List the types of DR Navigation systems. Dead Reckoning Navigation Systems derive the vehicle's present position by estimating the distance traveled from a known position from knowledge of the speed and direction of motion of vehicle. The main types of DR navigation systems used in aircraft are: 1. Inertial Navigation Systems. 2. Doppler/Heading Reference Systems 3. Air Data/Heading Reference Systems 6. What is the function of Outside World Sensor Systems? The outside world sensor systems comprise both radar and infrared sensor, which enable all weather and night time operation and transform the operational capability of the aircraft (or helicopter). The Radar Systems installed in civil airliners and many general aviation aircraft provide weather warning. The Infrared Sensor Systems can be used to provide a video picture of the thermal image scene of the outside world either using a fixed FLIR sensor, or a gimbaled IR imaging sensor.
