Hospitals produce a vast amount of potentially dangerous wastes. Most of the waste separations at present are done by rag pickers. Currently the separation of harmful hospital wastes and containers containing disposed pus, needles, glucose drip bottles, plastic papers and bandages are segregated by hand thereby leading to adverse chronic health effects like tuberculosis, cancer and infectious diseases. This may lead to decreased standard of living, decreased longevity and also after effects to generation of children born to such affected parents. To automate the segregation of the biomedical waste that is generated in the hospital, an automated waste segregator is proposed. On the detection of medical waste, the conveyor belt starts to move by the external motor. The waste will be passed to the sensing unit and Classifier unit. This is implemented with five steps capturing of input image, pre-processing, Median filtering, contrast enhancement and segmentation. After the completion of these steps, output will be assessed using different feature extracted from Gray Level Co-occurence Matrix (GLCM). After the segregation process it will be automated to the waste bin. The bin is monitored by a IR sensor, a Water sensor, a gas sensor and an ultrasonic sensor to identify the level of waste. The medical waste segregation is done automatically in order to avoid diseases that spreading in hospitals and to reduce the manual process.

Energy Efficient techniques and management schemes are essential in Wireless Sensor Network, as sensor nodes are power constrained. This paper proposes an algorithm for energy efficient routing of Wireless Sensor Networks using an Alternate Medium Access Control Scheduling with Harris Hawks Optimization. A simple Mesh structure is proposed, by scheduling the alternate nodes to sleep/ awake and communicate the information to sink through Harris Hawks Optimization. The simulation results show that, AL-HHO optimization provides a design alternative that achieves significant energy savings by shortest path routing. The results also show that AL-HHO achieves longevity of the network on comparison with the traditional methods.

ABSTRACT Energy efficient techniques and management schemes are essential in a wireless sensor network, as sensor nodes are power constrained. To restrain the energy problem, it is important to have efficient deployment, scheduling mechanisms and routing schemes. In this paper, heuristics and optimisation techniques for sensor networks are analysed based on their algorithmic attributes for energy efficiency. A detailed view of various swarm intelligence techniques is discussed in context of clustering, routing and MAC applications. The proposed techniques and algorithms are discussed and compared through simulation results.

This paper presents generalised particle approach (GPA) to optimise bandwidth allocation and QoS in ATM networks. The generalised particle approach transforms the network bandwidth allocation problem into kinematics and dynamics of numerous particles in a force field. ATM traffic is bursty in nature; the dynamic bandwidth allocation is an important factor for network performance. The network utilisation is reasonably attained by dynamically allocating the bandwidth. In this approach of ATM network optimisation, GPA deals with variety of phenomena like congestion, failure and interaction. The payment policy of ATM network path determines the bandwidth allocation of network link. It changes dynamically to the situation of demands and supplies of bandwidth. The path particle and link particle move in their respective force fields and the bandwidth allocation is done through an iterative procedure. The algorithm is simulated using the MATLAB. The performance of network based on GPA is compared with the max-min fairness (MMF) algorithm. The GPA algorithm based control of network has better network bandwidth utilisation, success rate and price allocation.

In this paper two novel adaptation schemes
are proposed to replace the classical PI controller used
in  model  reference  adaptive  speed-estimation  schemes
that  are  based  on  rotor  flux.  The  first  proposed
adaptation scheme is based on sliding-mode control and
the  adaptation  law  is  derived  using  Lyapunov  Theory
to  ensure  estimation  stability,  as  well  as  fast  error
dynamics. The other adaptation mechanism is based on
neural  network  .This  new  technique  uses  an  artificial
neural network (NN) as a rotor flux observer to replace
the  conventional  voltage  model. Here  a  comprehensive

ABSTRACT Wireless sensor networks are generally composed of densely deployed sensor nodes that collaboratively sense, compute and communicate the sensed information. Routing in sensor networks is based on energy optimisation and quality of service. In this paper, a meta-heuristic technique comprising particle swarm optimisation and Tabu search (TS) is used for energy efficient routing in sensor network. The hybrid approach has better network performance compared with the traditional approaches, simple particle swarm algorithm and TS, respectively. Experimental results penlight the efficacy of the proposed approach.

Visual impairers are not a new augury for the society. It is a condition of deficient visual perception. Accessibility in the anonymous environment for the visually challenged individuals is more critical. They are more prone to fall in accidents since they cannot discern their surroundings. The wide availability of equipment’s which help the blind people are quite expensive and cannot be easily expanded. Moreover the most of the techniques prevailing to aid them with the help of IR sensors do have a drawback i.e. in the presence of the sunlight it won’t produce an efficient result. For overcoming these drawbacks, the current paper contributes two concepts. The First concept deals with the identification of hindrance such as trees trunk, opened doors, stair case, etc. This is done with the help of an Obstacle Detection Unit (ODU) which discovers the obstacle that are against the visually impaired by capturing the image of the object present. In the latter case, Navigation Tracking Device (NTD) delivers route for the impaired where they wish to proceed without any human assistance.

One of the major concerns in using IoT devices is life of the battery, especially in remote places where power resources are limited. By employing certain low powered sensors, the IoT devices with higher power consumption can be activated only when required. In this paper, a methodology is proposed for reducing the consumption of power in an IoT device which sends data from a RFID tag to an output file. The consumption is reduced by implementing sleep mode when, the device is not required to be active, and a wakeup signal and studying the impact it has on the power consumption. An energy harvesting device is also integrated to make the device selfsustainable. a. The factor of energy consumption is not considered while choosing the hardware components for the network, rather it is chosen based on its specifications. Thus, when the devices are connected in a network, thus the overall energy consumption increases.[2] b. The application developers usually do not get the feedback on energy consumption of each device thus impacting the usage.[2] c. The protocols defining the energy management have not been fully implemented.[2]

Machine Learning and Predictive Analysis are the most required tools to uncover and understand huge collection of data. A branch of advanced analytics that predicts the future outcomes of data using different algorithms, data mining and statistical modelling. It is being employed by many organizations and companies to predict patterns in the data and to identify opportunities and risks. It is equally applicable in many domains namely business, medicine and education. Both Machine Learning and Predictive Analysis deal with the problem statement in a completely different manner. Predictive Analysis has a whole new purpose of analyzing the historical data and thus predicting the future outcomes from it. Predictive Analysis can be performed using Deep Learning as well. In this elementary review, we bring out an insight on predictive analysis using Machine Learning algorithms as the former is flexible, newer, and adaptive and also includes larger degrees of freedom in the analytics domain. This paper aims in giving the deeper insights done in this field. Aspects like algorithms and feature selection along with applications are explained. It will give an admonishment to people who want to know and apply predictive analysis in business or academic fields.
