RESUMEN 
En la obra de Parra, la relación dialéctico-crítica entre imagen y palabra es utilizada antipoéticamente como satirización de los metarelatos. Convierte esa misma crítica en un acto de literaturización de la vida. En el texto se analiza el juego elocuente con que Parra realiza su antipoesía. Se presenta una lectura de la estética y de los principios, o antiprincipios, con que operan los “artefactos” dialogantes y los slogans que construye.

ABSTRACT
In the work of Parra, the dialectic-critical relation between image and Word is used anti-poetically like satirization of the metarelatos. It turns those same critics as an act of literaturización of the life. In the text, is analyzed the eloquent game whereupon Parra makes its antipoetry. Appears a reading of the aesthetics and the principles, or antiprinciples, whereupon operate the dialogical devices and the slogan that he construct.

La morte è l’unica esperienza della vita che coinvolge ineluttabilmente tutti ma che tutti possono conoscere solo attraverso l’esperienza degli altri, come ha colto efficacemente Pirandello: «I vivi credono di piangere i loro morti e invece piangono una loro morte, una loro realtà che non è più nel sentimento di quelli che se ne sono andati».
L’antropologia ha codificato nella forma concettuale del rito di passaggio quanto gli antichi avevano già esemplificato attraverso la metafora del viaggio e della transizione. I momenti e gli atti che ruotano intorno alla morte, per la sua condizione di assoluta liminarità, costituiscono dunque il fulcro di un’esperienza collettiva e il tramite necessario per il superamento di quella soglia (limes) che ci permette di transitare da una condizione che non è più a una nuova dimensione, variamente concepita da cultura a cultura. In questo senso la morte è per eccellenza la metafora del confine; di un “limite” che, paradossalmente, viene raggiunto solo nel momento in cui non siamo più e, dunque, non possiamo più raccontarlo. E, in quanto tale, un confine contribuisce a codificare e rafforzare – fittiziamente – l’“identità” delle realtà che vivono ai suoi margini. Anche per questo, la morte può contribuire a definire l’idea e la percezione dell’“identità” che ciascuno di “noi” (singolarmente e/o collettivamente) si attribuisce, poiché è il culmine – naturale o meno – di un’esistenza e, al tempo stesso, l’atto estremo dell’esperienza terrena. È l’unica storia che non possiamo raccontare ma è anche quella attraverso la quale gli altri possono raccontare noi stessi o la percezione che, pirandellianamente, essi hanno avuto della nostra “realtà” o, meglio, di se stessi attraverso la nostra “realtà”. Ma la morte, ovviamente, è anche un atto biologico, nel corso del quale il cadavere subisce una metamorfosi che lo fa transitare dalla dimensione corporea a quella minerale, tornando materia, in un processo che può essere alterato casualmente e/o intenzionalmente dalla natura e dalla cultura, dando luogo a pratiche rituali e/o culturali di ricodifica simbolica della nostra essenza terrena, anch’esse variabili da società a società in relazione alla percezione che ciascuna di esse può avere della dialettica tra vita e morte e tra morte e ciò che si suppone ne segua.
La terza edizione del convegno di Antropologia e Archeologia a Confronto ha inteso affrontare queste complesse problematiche, cercando di offrire una panoramica dei più fruttuosi approcci teoretici e delle più aggiornate metodologie d’indagine messe in campo dall’antropologia culturale, dall’archeologia, dalla bioarcheologia e dall’archeotanatologia per cogliere l’essenza di questa frontiera; per decrittare il linguaggio di gesti, segni, sentimenti, riti, paure ed emozioni che contribuiscono a definirla; come sempre con l’ambizione gianiforme di guardare al passato per cogliere l’essenza del nostro presente.

Valentino Nizzo: Archeologo senza frontiere (Todi 1975). Da maggio 2017, in seguito a una selezione internazionale, dirige il Museo Nazionale Etrusco di Villa Giulia a Roma. Dal 2010 è stato funzionario archeologo presso la Soprintendenza Archeologia dell’Emilia Romagna e dal 2015 presso la Direzione generale Musei come responsabile della promozione, comunicazione e accessibilità culturale del sistema museale nazionale. Ha conseguito il PhD in Etruscologia presso la “Sapienza” Università di Roma e il Post-dottorato presso l’Istituto Italiano di Scienze Umane di Firenze pubblicandone i risultati nel volume Archeologia e antropologia della Morte: storia di un’idea (Edipuglia, Bari, 2015) da cui ha tratto ispirazione il presente convegno. La paleopatología se encarga de estudiar las enfermedades que afectaron a los seres vivos en el pasado. Estas enfermedades dejaron su huella indeleble en los restos óseos de las criaturas que las padecieron. En este artículo vamos a analizar, fundamentalmente, la paleopatología en el contexto de la osteoarqueología humana: su definición, su metodología –tanto en campo como en laboratorio-, sus indicadores, las principales patologías que los huesos humanos nos revelan y, finalmente, qué relación tiene esta disciplina con la arqueología y cuán relevante es para el descubrimiento de nuestro pasado.

Paleopathology is responsible for studying diseases that affected living creatures in the past. These diseases left their lasting trace on the skeletal remains of those creatures. In this article I will mainly analyse paleopathology in the context of human osteoarchaeology: definition, methodology –both in field and lab-, indicators, main pathologies that human bones reveal and, finally, the relationship between this subject and archaeology and how relevant it is for the discovery of our past.

El propósito del artículo es revisar la historia vital y sobre todo la historia post mórtem del “gigante” español con mayor proyección mediática de todos los tiempos: Agustín Luengo Capilla (1849-1875), conocido como “El Gigante Extremeño”. Estudiamos las circunstancias que le vinculan con el famoso doctor Pedro González Velasco y la consecuencia última de esa relación: que su cuerpo pase a formar parte del Museo Antropológico fundado por el médico segoviano en 1875, actual sede del Museo Nacional de Antropología en Madrid. Seguidamente, analizamos el proceso de formación de la leyenda creada en torno a Luengo y Velasco y cuestionamos la orientación y parte del argumento de un proyecto que pretende “poner en valor” la figura del gigante, pues lo hace dando por buenos los contenidos de esa leyenda y las invenciones de una novela histórica que, en realidad, presentan una imagen espuria del personaje biografiado.

The aim of this paper is to revise the life history and especially the post mortem history of a “giant” who had and still has the greatest media coverage of the Spanish giants of all times: Agustín Luengo Capilla (1849-1875), known as “The Giant from Extremadura”. The famous Spanish surgeon Pedro González Velasco met him in Madrid, and the result derived from that relationship was really peculiar: Luengo’s remains became part of the Anthropological Museum founded by Velasco in 1875, currently National Museum of Anthropology. We analyze the legend created around Luengo (and Velasco) and we question the direction and part of the contents of a project that aims “to promote” the knowledge of his life. Our criticism is based on the fact that the project validates thelegend and the inventions of a recently published novel about the giant, and on the fact that both narratives just offer a spurious image of him.

"Presso il laboratorio di Antropologia Morfologica del Dipartimento di Scienze della Vita e Biologia dei Sistemi dell’Università di Torino è in uso da alcuni anni un sistema di archiviazione dei dati antropologici. Si tratta di una scheda creata su supporto informatico (Office Excel 98 e seguenti), ma utilizzabile anche su supporto cartaceo (A4 fronte-retro), per la raccolta dei dati sul campo o in laboratorio. La scheda vuole essere da una parte uno strumento di facile utilizzo per la raccolta di tutte le informazioni antropologiche fondamentali, e dall’altra uno strumento per l’archiviazione informatica dei dati al fine di creare un data-base per la gestione di grandi quantità di informazioni derivanti dagli studi antropologici.
La scheda è suddivisa in diverse sezioni relative ai vari aspetti antropologici da analizzare che prevedono l’inserimento dei dati identificativi della sepoltura, la rappresentazione grafica della presenza/assenza dei distretti scheletrici e denti, la stima del sesso e dell’età, le misure osteometriche, gli indici di robustezza, la stima della statura, i rilievi di antropologia dentaria, le entesi e la valutazione dello stato di conservazione.
Nella versione informatica sono preimpostate alcune funzioni matematiche che consentono, contemporaneamente all’inserimento dei dati rilevati, il calcolo e la determinazione automatica dei vari parametri presi in considerazione. La scheda riporta, inoltre, tutti i riferimenti bibliografici dei metodi utilizzati, selezionati tra quelli più noti in letteratura.

Objective: Evaluate the usefulness of the dental method of Carrea to estimate the height in Mexican population.
Material and methods: Analytical, correlational and cross-sectional study in 2 cadaveric Mexican populations. Sample: 56 bodies, 32 of Veracruz and 24 of the Federal District. In each corpse 4 morphometric measurements were performed, of which 5 derivatives were obtained. Statistical analysis: 1) mean and standard deviation (SD) was calculated; 2) for sex, t Student and Levene tests for comparison of means and SDs were used; 3) to calculate the variability between Federal District and Veracruz, principal component analysis was made; 4) the heights, real, minimum, average and maximum were compared by univariate ANOVA, and 5) a Pearson correlation analysis between actual and minimum heights was performed.
Results: No differences were found between the 2 cadavers samples studied, neither between real and minimum height in either group: Federal District, real height (172.08 ± 6.53 cm.) and minimum height (171.35 ± 7.81 cm) (P>.05); Veracruz, real height (167.5 ± 5.77 cm) and minimum height (166.50 ± 6.36 cm) (P>.05), having that the correlation between real height and
the minimum height is advisable for both samples, Federal District (r=.79, P=.000), Veracruz (r=.82, P=.000) and overall (r=.83, P=.000).
Conclusions: The dental Carrea’s method, using the minimum height reference, is an excellent estimate of the actual size in mexican corpses.

Resumen.

Objetivo: Determinar la efectividad del método odontológico de Carrea para estimar la talla real de cadáveres mexicanos.
Material y métodos: Estudio analítico, correlacional y transversal en 2 poblaciones mexicanas cadavéricas. Muestra: 56 cadáveres, 32 de Veracruz y 24 del Distrito Federal. En cada cadáver se realizaron 4 mediciones morfométricas, de las cuales se obtuvieron 5 derivadas. Análisis estadístico: 1) se calcularon media y desviación estándar (DE); 2) para sexo, se utilizaron las pruebas t Student y de Levene para comparación de medias y DE; 3) para calcular la variabilidad entre muestras, se realizó un análisis de componentes principales; 4) las tallas real, mínima, máxima y promedio se compararon mediante un ANOVA unifactorial y 5) se realizó un análisis de correlación de Pearson entre las tallas real y mínima.
Resultados: No se encontraron diferencias entre las 2 muestras de cadáveres estudiadas ni entre las tallas real y mínima en ninguno de los 2 grupos: Distrito Federal, talla real (172,08 ± 6,53 cm) y talla mínima (171,35 ± 7,81 cm) (p > 0,05); Veracruz, talla real (167,5 ± 5,77 cm) y talla mínima (166,50 ± 6,36 cm) (p > 0,05). Se obtuvo que la correlación entre la talla real y la mínima es adecuada tanto para la muestra del Distrito Federal (r = 0,79; p = 0,000) como para la de Veracruz (r = 0,82; p = 0,000), así como en conjunto (r = 0,83; p = 0,000).
Conclusiones: El método odontológico de Carrea, utilizando la talla mínima como referencia, es un excelente estimador de la talla real en cadáveres mexicanos.

Рассматриваются материалы курганов 4, 5 могильника Талды-2, курганов 1, 7 могильника Карашокы и кургана 1 могильника Акбеит. Эти памятники, для которых характерны большие размеры, сложная конструкция, наличие в могиле престижных изделий, датируются в рамках раннесакского периода —VII–VI вв. до н. э. Среди антропологических материалов из новых памятников тасмолинской культуры Центрального Казахстана обнаружены черепа с трепанациями, имеющимися, как правило, на затылочной части. По итогам анализа материалов отмечается, что подобные трепанации маркируют высокий социальный статус погребенного. Необходимость выполнения небольших отверстий в затылочной области черепа, вероятно, связана либо с введением консервирующего состава в полость черепной коробки для бальзамирования тела, либо с очищением скелета от мягких тканей в процессе хранения тела до времени погребения. Рассмотренные данные подтверждают наличие традиций специфической подготовки
тела к переходу в загробный мир, широко распространенных на территории Казахстана и Центральной Азии в древности. Для плодотворного исследования темы привлечены и этнографические материалы.

Рассматриваются краниологические материалы из погребений ямной культуры с территории
Западного Казахстана. Их сравнение с палеоантропологическими данными степей и лесостепей Евра-
зии синхронными и предшествующего времени показывает сходство в первую очередь с черепами эпо-
хи нео-энеолита Казахстанских степей. Формулируется вывод, что часть основных морфологических
черт, присущих данному ямному населению, могла быть унаследована от местных древних популяций
человека.

This paper is aimed at scrutinizing the dependence between the morphological features of the Eneolithic — Early Bronze population and the geographical and bioclimatic conditions in the Altai valleys and intermountain basins. Across the territory of the Altai highlands, we have identified several local-territorial groups of archaeological sites dating to the period under study. Most of them belong to the Afanasyevо culture, with the rest being represented by the Kurota, Aragol and Ulita cultural types that have been recently designated from the Afanasyevо culture. For each group, in accordance with their geographical localization, we have calculated geographical and bioclimatic parameters. The comparison of these parameters with the characteristics of the corresponding craniological series has allowed us to reveal the main trends of intergroup variability within the Eneolithic — Early Bronze Altai population. A considerable and statistically significant correlation is found between the morphological parameters, such as the height of the cranium, general sizes of a cranial cavity and the width of the face, and geographic and bioclimatic parameters characterizing the severity of the climate and the mountain height above sea level. In terms of other race-demarcating characteristics, no significant difference has been revealed between the territorial groups of the Altai Eneolithic — Early Bronze population characterized by the proto-European type. The identified variations correspond to the previously established differences between the total series of skulls of the Afanasyevо culture from the Altai highlands and the Minusinsk Hollow, as well as to two craniological types defined as the main anthropological components of the Afanasyevо culture population in Southern Siberia. The first of these types, prevailing among the Altai Afanasyevo culture population, is markedly hypermorphic and characterized by a higher and, in general, a larger skull. The second type, determining the craniological specifics of the unicultural population in the Minusinsk Hollow, is moderately hypermorphic and characterized by a smaller and, importantly, less high skull. Our findings suggest that these differences are associated in many respects with a general increase in the body size in populations having lived in the most bioclimatically unfavourable areas of the Altai highlands. This is evidenced by an increase in the longitudinal and girth dimensions of the long skeletal bones of the Altai Eneolithic — Early Bronze population having inhabited the mid-mountain and high-mountain Altai areas compared with the control samples from the low-mountain Altai regions and the Afanasyevo culture from the Minusinsk Hollow. Therefore, according to the calculated parameters, the population from the bioclimatically unfavourable Altai regions was characterized by a rather large weight and height among all the studied ancient Neolithic — Bronze Eurasian groups. Thus, our study confirms that the main mechanism of biological adaptation to the severe mountain environment of the Altai highlands among the Eneolithic — Early Bronze population was the enhancement of energy processes by means of increasing standard metabolism. As a result, the initially tall and large proto-European population was becoming even larger.

Materials to anthropology of the Middle, Late and Final Bronze Age of the Central Kazakhstan
The anthropological materials from the entombments of the Bronze Age of Central Kazakhstan are investigated. Specific morphological features of the Kazakhstan population of the Late Bronze are obtained on the basis of received and previously published craniometrical data. The anthropological foreignness of the population of the Andronovo (Fedorovo) culture for this territory, and the genetic continuity of the population of the Alakul cultural line from the early stages to the final stage of the Bronze Age are affirmed.

Rescue archaeological excavations were undertaken in the locality of St. Spas situated in the Varosh
Quarter, town of Pernik in 2003 and 2004. A sector of wide necropolis was examined, which had been
in use within the periods of the 11th-12th and the 14th-19th c. The 2014 field season excavated fifty-one
burial pits with inhumation, dated in 15th-19th c. Bone remains of a total eighty-seven individuals were
identified. The aim of present study comprised identifying the age and sex of buried and the pathological
changes on postcranial skeletal in the series of the necropolis. The percentage distribution between
adults and subadults is almost equal but children in early childhood prevail. Pathological changes were
observed in 31.51% of the postcranial skeletons: 65.22% were males, 30.43% were females and 4.35%
unsexed individuals (a child). Fractures, arthritis, pathology on the limbs, vertebral pathology, ossified
insertionitis and myositis were registered.

Представлены результаты исследования краниологических материалов из могильников синташтинской культуры с территории Тургайского прогиба из могильников Халвай 5 и Бестамак. Обсуждаются вопросы формирования антропологического состава и генетической структуры европеоидного населения эпохи бронзы степной и лесостепной зон Евразии.

We report the results of the anthropological studies of osteological material from different Cantabrian sites of medieval age, as Cueva
de las Penas (Mortera), Riocueva (Hoznayo), some individuals from El Conventón (Camesa-Rebolledo) and the necropolis of El Campo (San
Miguel de Aguayo). We also present an international multidisciplinar proyect in collaboration with Proyecto Mauranus (archeology), Marqués
de Valdecilla Universitary Hospital (paleogenetics and paleomicrobiology) and the German Tübingen University (paleogenetics). Finally, we
show a review of the anthropological studies in Cantabria and their future expectations.

This paper first examines craniological materials of the Chemurchek culture of the Early bronze age in Western Mongolia. Significant morphological differences are discovered as compared with the previous Proto-Europeoid population of the Afanasyevo culture in Southern Siberia and Central Asia. The anthropological type of the people of the Chemurchek culture is characterized by mongoloid features, which are stronger expressed in women. The Chemurchek population most resembles people of the Serovo and Glazkov cultures of the Circumbaikal region. Certain morphological closeness is shown by bearers of archaeological cultures of the Early bronze age of the south of Siberia and Central Asia: the Elunin culture in Altay and Eastern Kazakhstan, at the burial ground of Aymyrlyg in Tuva (in males), Ust-Tartas, Odinovo and early Krotov cultures at the burial ground of Sopka II in Baraba forest-steppe, as well as materials from the cemetery of Gumugou in Xinjiang. Possibly, this closeness is a reflection of a common anthropological substratum, since an anthropological type similar to the Circumbaikal one is recorded in craniological materials of the Neolithic-Eneolithic burial grounds in the northern foothills of the Altay-Sayan mountains.

The main objective of this paper is to assess the genetic structure and residence preferences of the populations that inhabit the Honduran Moskitia, a wide area of tropical rain forest that comprises the Department of Gracias a Dios, in the republic of Honduras. For this purpose, common isonymy parameters within and between parishes, as well as residence patterns using both surnames were calculated from a list of 22,961 electors at 54 villages or towns, grouped in six municipalities. High Isonymy values were obtained from all the communities and predominance in patrilocality in most of them, revealing a highly structured, patrilocal population composed mainly by relatively isolated communities. Analysis of isonymy between communities revealed the most probable historical migration routes and relations among locations. Evidence of an early relatively homogeneous peopling of the region followed by high differentiation between communities was found. The findings suggest that the Department of Gracias a Dios is a structured population composed mostly by communities with high endogamy and genetic drift, which makes it suitable for the performance of genetic studies on mendelian or complex diseases. The capital city of the department, Puerto Lempira, may be the only one experiencing a fast urbanization process.

Исследуются палеоантропологические материалы пахомовской культуры эпохи поздней бронзы, относящейся к кругу андроноидных культур Западной Сибири. Краниологическая серия с памятника Ново-Шадрино VII (пять мужских и три женских черепа) в среднем характеризуется крупными размерами мозгового и лицевого отделов, и промежуточными европеоидно-монголоидными показателями в строении лицевого скелета. Результаты межгруппового статистического анализа на широком географическом фоне показывают значительное сходство исследуемой серии с краниологическими материалами эпохи бронзы подтаежной полосы Западной Сибири, и морфологические отличия от выражено европеоидных серий андроновской культуры более южных районов. Это подтверждает выводы В.А. Дремова о существовании в эпоху бронзы на юге Западной Сибири двух антропологических зон – южной андроновской в лесостепной полосе и северной метисной в подтаежной; а также об активных метисационных процессах в конце эпохи бронзы на данной территории. Результаты проведенного исследования также позволяют сделать выводы о различиях европеоидной морфо-генетической основы в антропологическом составе населения различных андроноидных культур Западной Сибири.

This paper discusses the Coptic mummies from cemetery C at Deir an-Naqlun in Egypt. The site is also known in the literature as Deir el-Malak Ghubriel (Monastery of Archangel Gabriel). It is situated in the Western Desert, at the foot of a rocky cliff , 16km south of the city of Fayum and 120km from Cairo. It is one of the oldest, still existing Coptic monasteries in Egypt,
with its origins reaching into the 6th/7th or even 5th century CE.
Excavations at the site have been carried out since 1986 by the Institute of Archaeology, University of Warsaw team led by Włodzimierz Godlewski. Cemetery C was identified during the survey in 1987 when one of the disturbed graves was xcavated. The number of burials was estimated at more than 180 graves. The regular exploration of the cemetery began in 2004.
Since then, 14 rock-hewn graves dating to the 6th/7th c. CE have been excavated. The remains represent 8 male individuals. The individuals ranged in age from 30 to 45 years. In five cases partially naturally mummified soft tissue was present on the skeletons.

Монография посвящена изучению популяционной структуры и особенностям физического облика древнего и современного коренного населения Северной Евразии. На основе обширных антропологических материалов, охватывающих исторический период в 6000 лет (с IV  тыс. до н.э. по современность), рассматривается процесс формирования аборигенного населения этого региона. Показана роль миграций и автохтонного развития древних популяций, определены основные направления их родственных связей. Выявлена устойчивая тенденция в генезисе народов, заключающаяся в сохранении генетических фондов популяций из поколения в поколение. Антропологическое своеобразие ряда североазиатских популяций послужило основанием для построения новой таксономической системы, в которой выделен новый очаг формообразования в Евразийской промежуточной зоне. Только после изучения сложной мозаики составляющих компонентов антропологического типа народа с определением характера изменчивости антропологических признаков популяций в пространстве и во времени антропологические данные могут служить объективной основой для связи того или иного комплекса признаков с определенной древней группой людей либо с современной этнической общностью. Сложная комбинация антропологических комплексов обычно образует у каждой относительно изолированной общности специфическое сочетание, но именно это в той или иной мере отражает генезис народов и, следовательно, является важнейшим источником исторической информации. Конечно, антропологическое исследование не в состоянии охватить весь спектр истории народов в силу специфики самого источника, реконструкция этногенетических процессов на их базе возможна лишь в той мере, в какой они нашли отражение в палеоантропологических данных. Но ряд проблем может успешно решаться только при использовании антропологического материала, а вскрываемые антропологией грани этногенеза древнего и современного населения Северной Евразии внесут свой вклад в воссоздание его истории.

A finales del año 2010 se llevó a cabo una intervención arqueológica de urgencia en un solar adyacente al centro cultural de San Miguel
de Aguayo. Dicha excavación reveló la presencia de una necrópolis de tumbas de lajas, de cronología medieval, datada mediante 14C de uno
de los inhumados en el siglo X. Se presenta el estudio antropológico y paleopatológico de los restos humanos recuperados en las 9 de las 17
tumbas localizadas y excavadas, dado que el resto se encontraban vacías.

Recientemente la Sección de Arqueología del Colegio de Doctores y Licenciados de Valencia y Castellón y Sovrintendenza Capitolina ai Beni Cultural de Roma han firmado un acuerdo de colaboración `dentro del proyecto de investigación de la necrópolis de Via Ostiense.
El proyecto dirigido por los antropólogos y arqueólogos colegiados del CDLV: Llorenç Alapont Martín en la dirección y coordinación científica y Sheyla Sancho Peris en la dirección técnica consiste en un proyecto de investigación y formación, como curso práctico, del estudio, análisis e interpretación de los restos incinerados conservados en el interior de las urnas depositadas en los sepulcros de la necrópolis romana de Via Ostiene.
